Newborn & Baby - February 2007

My daughter's 9 months old. My mother in law keeps asking: "WHEN are you gonna bring the baby to get her ears pierced?". I'm not so sure it's a good idea... maybe I'm just too careful, because this is my first baby, and because my little sister had many problems when she got her ears pierced at a young age (infections, they got caught in clothes and tore her ears...)
So, I'd like to know if it's risky or not to get my baby's ears pierced.

My daughter will be 12 months on the 19th of this month and she just got over a stomoch flu. She seems small compared to my first born. She's weighs about 19.6pounds.
Does that sound right , or do you think she's just small for her age?

and he doesn't like anything. Everytime I put him in his jumperoo he fussys. everytime I put him in his pack and play to play w/ some toys he fussys. He doesn't cry just wines...He is teething and I don't know if that is why he is more fussy then normal. What did other mothers experience when there child(ren) were teething?

Dr . said to only feed my 6 week old baby 4oz every 4 hrs instead of the 7 to 8 oz I have been feeding him for the past 2 weeks. Dr. said the reason he is fussy is because he has heart burn. my son is four months old adn is doomed to wear them as my husband an i are almost blind w/o glasses. i have seen babies with glasses and i just wanted to know what age i can take him to the dr to get examed? they dont do it like they do for adults that can read and talk...its diffrent. any info will help. i have tried glasses on him that are made for babies his age.

My 8 month old falls asleep at about 6pm...he wakes up at about 2-3 am..we have tried to give him a bottle at around 10-11pm so he can sleep through. He still cries at 3am. It breaks my heart to hear him cry. Any suggestions?

My 9 month old has eczema rashes on his cheeks and chin. I've been using hydrocortizone on it, which works ok, but I'm looking for something that's extra moisturizing that I can apply as often as I need to instead of every 4 hours. Also, does this kind of eczema rash ever go away?

I can not believe this. So far every big baby item that we have bought for my son has broken with the exception of his crib. Is there a stronger brand out there. My 5 month olds swing broke and his pack and play his high chair, and now is bouncer. Some were made by evenflo, and others by Graco. Does anyone know what company produces the bast and strongest baby items???? I am getting tired of buying duplicate items because of poor product quality.

i work for a family right now..great people all around but im worried about there family situation.. they live with there father in oh(thats where i babysit them) and then go to their mothers every weekend in pa..the father and the mother are married and only live like this because of their jobs..the kids a 2yr old twins, one has a serious heart problems (docs say he wouldnt make it passed 2 but did,)and they also have a 4 month old.. what kind of effect would this have on the children when they are older if any?

My 9 month old was born with a normal penis, but since he was 2-3 months old it has disappeared into the fat pad. He's a little chubby(23lbs), but I've never seen this happen to other chubby babies. The doctor says it will come out as he thins out, but I'm still worried, it looks like he has no penis. Anyone know about this condition, does it get better?
