i work for a family right now..great people all around but im worried about there family situation.. they live with there father in oh(thats where i babysit them) and then go to their mothers every weekend in pa..the father and the mother are married and only live like this because of their jobs..the kids a 2yr old twins, one has a serious heart problems (docs say he wouldnt make it passed 2 but did,)and they also have a 4 month old.. what kind of effect would this have on the children when they are older if any?

I think that the kids will be really close to the dad and that the mom my grow away from them. I don't think this type of life is productive for children. How truley sad this is for these young ones. But they have you and you obviously care quite a bit for these children and for that they are truely lucky.

The most important thing in a childs life is stability. I'm sure the difference will be that IF this continues they will be okay as long as its ALWAYS the same. I'm sure this will complicate things down the road such as....when they get back together in the same house its going to be like god shone down on them for the first time....mommy and daddy together and the past will be a very dark memory....unless it never changes...them I'm sure they will wander a bit in life and not be as close to either parent harbouring resentment...toward both for not thinking of them first

wouldnt be so bad except that heart problem thats alot of traveling to put on an already stressed child. otherwise it seems fine to me they see both parents and spend time with each that heart problem is the only thing that bothers me
