My husband is in the Navy and will be leaving for some time. He is going to be gone for about 4 months, and our son will be around 7-8 months old when he gets back. I am worried our son won't know who he is when he gets back, and my husband will be upset when he tries to spend time with him and he cries. Any advice?

I am 35 weeks and 3 days today and was hospitalized for 2 weeks for premature labor at 31 weeks. I got 2 steriod shots when I was there. I've been home on bed rest and procardia for 2 weeks now. Would my baby be born healthy at 36 weeks? Would he have to stay in the NCUI?
I know all babies are different, but what do my odds look like?

At 11wks my little girl was sleeping around 12hsr from 7-7. She is now 9 mnths and about 4 weeks ago started waking up every 1-2 hours. When she wakes in the morning she is happy in her crib alone playing for 15-20 mins but when she wakes through the night, she immediately sits up and starts to scream. We have tried leaving her but she continues to scream for 20mins or so and the other night made her self sick from sreaming. She has been teething for several months (drooling) but is rarely cranky during the day, so I don't think it's the teeth bothering her. I am at my wits end and would love some advise!

What housing options are available for single mums? I know a girl who has just given birth and she hasn't tried to get housing while she was preg and now her family are giving her grief and she's had to stay with other members of her family with her baby, now they said she can only stay for a few weeks. Will the council give her a house? She lives in Kent but wants to live in London.... Anyone know if she can get a house?

Ive been breast feeding since birth (2 weeks 2 days), the first week all was well, no problems blahblah. But about 5 days ago or so my nipples started hurting like holy freaking hell.

To be expected obviously (my le leche leader said all is well, and it will pass), my question is, how long should it take for them to toughen up and stop hurting?

My little guy has quite the newborn over bite so his latch always leaves his bottom lip farther in than what would be nice.. lol. I invested in some lanolin, stuff REALLY helped alot.

How long did you go with sore nipples? Its getting hard not to throw in the towel and whip out a bottle and some formula.

Also, how long before he eats a quicker meal and less often? 2-3 months? never? lol.

On the handout I got from the doctor today it said I could start giving my son some things like zwieback toast and biter biscuits. They even had crackers listed. How old was your child when you started these types of things?

After a bottle of formula is warmed, how long can I let it sit out before feeding it to my baby? If she only finishes half, can she eat the other half an hour later?

why would a parent put a 5 1/2 mo old to sleep at 5pm, she was still sleeping at 11pm, won't she be up all night?

I know babies need lots of sleep, but when can you start keeping them up or waking them up to get them on a schedual?

Parents will not ever wake her if she is sleeping, if she falls asleep in the car she is kept in car seat until she wakes up. Is this normal? Do most parents do this?

I had a baby Dec. 22, 2006. I started exercising five weeks later. I was doing situp and crunches mostly. I have noticed that I have never really stopped bleeding, yes it has slowed but never really completely stopped.
When I do my crunches and situps I notice I start having soreness and stiffness in my pelvic area again and my bleeding picks up a bit. I really don't know when is the appropriate time to start doing exercise like that.
I have already been for my post pardum appointment, at 4 wks. I didn't ask my doc then because I wasn't exercising and wasn't thinking on it. He did give me a clean bill of health but we didn't talk about exercise.
Does anyone know a round about good time after giving birth to start doing things like crunches and situps?

I know this sounds gross but I need help. This is baby number 3. She is now 8 months old. She only nurses a few times a day now. I have noticed that between feedings my nipples are so dry. They have flaky skin on them that peels off when touched. They are just so dry. I have used Palmer's Cocoa butter but it only soothes them, it doesn't make the dry skin go away. Thanks so much for you advice!!! :)
