He is too young, give him a month or two and try again. Most pediatricains now recommend solid feeding not start until 6 to 7 months old!

I had the same problem with my son. He was just resistant to something new. It took time and patience, at first I would try to feed him solids only once a day but when he began to cry or I could see he was getting frustrated I would stop. He is now almost 6 months old and does really well. We still have our tough times but we get thru them. Good luck.

He may not have gotten over his tongue-thrust reflex yet. We had that problem when we tried solid food at 4 months. Wait a couple weeks and try again. In the meantime, try a bit of rice cereal in his bottle to get him used to the flavor.

Also, breastmilk or formula should still be his primary source of calories at this age. You should start each feeding with a bottle, then supplement with solids after the bottle.

First feedings can be a struggle. The new food consistancy in their mouths doesn't really calculate to them. They haven't learned to swallow solid foods and the fact that this helps cure their hunger. Take it slow. A few bites before the bottle at each feeding.

You might have to wait until he's a bit older.

It is hard for a baby that is used to just liquids to be introduced to cereal or food but just be patient. It might be a little early for him. In about a week or so try it again and see how he reacts to it. It might be best if you try him on cereal first. Rice cereal is what my doctor told me was the best to start on, less harsh on the babies stomach. Hang in there, everything will work out

Wait till he is hungry for a bottle. Not starving but beginning hungy. Let him slurp it off the spoon. A little each day. And start with vegatables so he doesnt choose sweets (friut) over veggies. He will get the hang of it. Give him sips of his bottle between spoonfulls. Then give him a bottle after wards to finish him off.

Introducing solids too early can cause food allergies. Talk to your pediatrician. If all he wants is his bottle, then let him have it. Formula or breast milk is the best thing for him right now. When he's ready for solids, he will have to learn how to use his mouth to swallow the food. He's not ready yet.

he ovbiously wasnt ready, just give him some time and try again. Also, try some other kind of food. i would start out with cereal. and when you give them regular baby food, start out with vegtables, because you if give them something sweet then they get a taste for that and thats all they want to eat later on in life.

that happens, just keep offering it to him at every meal. Don't let him get so hungry that he's famished because then he won't want to deal with anything but the bottle (bottles are easy and the lazy way of eating). Try to make it a pleasant time and talk to him and show him how you eat it (I know, yuck, but it helps to lead by example).

He'll take to it - he may be too young too. Talk with your doctor

Then he isn't ready. Wait a while, perhaps another month, before trying again.
This is one thing that you have to let your baby lead you on.
