a) Whatever they want
b) As often as they want.

As long as they are making wet diapers, happy, and gaining they are fine. Exactly the same as breastfed babies. Stop obsessing over the numbers.

There is no exact amount to feed your baby. Usually, a baby this age and size should be eating every two to three hours (breastfeeding) and 3 to 4 hours (formula). If feeding formula, prepare a 4 oz bottle each feeding, making sure to burp the baby after every ounce or so, if they are prone to spitting up. As long as they are wetting their diaper several times a day, you need not worry if you are giving them enough to drink. For breastfeeding, you should be safe to feed 10 to 15 min each side, burping before switching sides. Even at this age, the baby will let you know when they have had enough. They won't turn their head away because they don't have that ability down yet, but they will stop sucking and fall asleep or give some other indication that they are full. Sometimes they will vomit it all up because they took too much at one time which is why you should stop to burp them every now and then. Remember, the wet diapers are the best indication your baby is getting enough. Hope this helps!

A 1 month old will have 5 to 8 feedings per day and should have a total of 18 to 22 ounces in that 24 hour period. (2-3oz per feeding)
A 2 month old will have the same number of feedings, but will have a total of 20 to 28 ounces per day. (usually 3-4 ounce per feeding)

I know these numbers seem hard to follow, but as long as you are falling with-in the 24 hour totals, you will be fine.
I fed my daughter on a schedule. she had severe acid reflux and we had to do it that way. she ate every 3 hours until she was 6 months old, then we loosened up when she started eating more solid foods. But, she slept through the night at 8 weeks. so we had to get all those ounces in just during the day.

If you have doubts, ask your pediatrician.

My son will be 6 weeks old this week, he was born premie, but he is getting fed every 3 hours (he wants thouse feedings), and he is currently having 3.5oz of breast milk mixed with formula (because he was pre term). He slept though a feeding today for the first time also (now to get him to do that at night!) By the time a baby is 2 months old, they apparently should have 4-5 oz of food, and may start going longer between feeds because they have just finished a growth spurt. My doctor did say at 8 weeks my son should start to sleep through feedings frequently, I beleive that now!

That really depends if the baby is breastfed or not

Breastfed: whenever the baby is hungry, at this point u should still be on the feed on demand system...it takes awhile to get on a proper schedule when u r breastfeeding..about 2-3 months, i know some women who r not on a schedule until they introduce solids.

Bottlefed: On average at this age the baby is on 2-4 ounze bottles every 2-3 hours...it really depends on the baby...but as long as u r getting about 5-8 wet diapers a day and at least 1 poop u r good...

I hope this helps and good luck!!

My son is almost 1 month old and he eats 4 oz about every 3-4 hours. My other 2 children were about the same.

Most babies around that young still only drink 1.5 oz.- 2 oz. About every 2-3 hours is normal for how often they eat. Every baby is different, so don't try to feed him/her if the baby isn't fussing, you'll know when. Good luck!

My son ate like every 2 hrs, 2oz at a time. But he was born 8lbs since your baby is a little smaller maybe 1 and 1 half ounce but I would ask the doctor about it.

Well, most boys tend to want to eat more than girls. But at that age they say a new born should eat between 2-4ounces no more than 6oz every 2-3 hours for feeding.
