My daughter will be 12 months on the 19th of this month and she just got over a stomoch flu. She seems small compared to my first born. She's weighs about 19.6pounds.
Does that sound right , or do you think she's just small for her age?

my almost 11 month old weighs just over 18 lbs so you are just about right, our pediatrician says that she is in the lower section of the weight range but as long as she is taking between 14 to 18 ounces of formula per day and eating a few jars of baby food it is nothing to worry about, tell your daughter happy birthday!

My son will be 12 months on Saturday, and that's right about what he weighs, too. His 12 month check-up is next week, so I don't know exactly what he weighs now, but two weeks ago he weighed 18 pounds exactly. I do know that he is a little small for his age, and he won't be able to turn his carseat around at 1 year (you have to be 1 year AND 20 pounds here), but my boyfriend and I were both small when we were children, too, so I'm not worried about it. Perhaps she'll just be petite!

I don't have any experience as I have no kids (yet), but here's a growth percentile calculator you could try out:
http://www.babycenter.com/growthchart/

It says that 19.6 lbs for a 12 month old girl is in the 10-25 percentile range.

Here's a graphical chart:

I really suggest talking to your doctor if you're at all concerned. Maybe she's always just been small, and this is normal, or maybe she's too small, your doctor will be able to tell you.

Well I wouldnt be to concerned...shes due for her 12 month check up so ask the doc then...but keep in mind all babies grow at different rates, perhaps she is just a smaller build...as long as she is happy, healthy and has loads of energy like a 1yr old should I wouldnt worry...

She does seem a bit small but not too bad, but that being said every baby is different. Have you spoken with your doctor about your concerns? Is she eating properly? Does she have energy? Is she on track with development? These are all questions the doctor will ask to see if she is just petite or if there is a concern.

Good luck!

well if she just got over a flu she probably dropped some weight.....my daughter is small and the doctor told me to make sure she is not drinking to much that she doesn't eat but other than that she is healthy so don;t worry

is she also small length wise? if she is then i dont think you have anything to worry about. however, if she is tall, then it may be a problem. some babies are just small. my baby is the same way, she is 18 months and she only weighs 22 lbs. she is also short though, only in the 25th percentile for her height. my best advice if you are concerned is to take her to a doctor and see what they say

Did she lose much weight during the flu? I would probably check it out with a health nurse or doctor anyway, just to be on the safe side.

it all depends on her weight when she was born. id say that sounds about average for a baby. my son will be 1 on the 6th and weighs 23p 5oz. hes lost 2 ounces since his 9 month checkup. as long as she is eating well and the doctors dont have any concerns about it, i wouldn't worry.

my daughter weighed exactly the same weight at 12 months, and now she is 24 months and weighs 29.6lbs so she is probably fine, the dr will monitor if he has concerns
