My best friend's child has caught RSV and is being given medication at home that the doctor gave them. I'm not sure what it was called except that they put a mask on him and let him breathe it in every two hours. The doctor told my friend that she must do it every two hours on the dot and not miss one dosage. What concerns me is the father is not doing it "on the dot." Sometimes he is as much as a half hour off. He just keeps saying "it'll be ok." This little one is like a son to me but I am too far away to help myself. Am I being a worry-wart or is my discomfort valid? Has anyone used a medication that sounds like this before? Was time very important? I don't want to butt in and complain about how he takes care of his son if it isn't really a big deal, but I'm just so worried.

sounds like he is using a nebulizer, my ex would never do my daughters neb treatments on time, and this was after she landed in the ER after a 911 call because she had stopped breathing, and was admitted to the hospital for 2 days. My daughter turned out fine, but this guy sounds like an idiot of you ask me. My ex is an ex for a reason, and that one is just one of the many.

RSV can be deadly in babies. My niece had this after she had heart surgery (She was 13 dats old when she had the surgery) and a week after she came home after the surgery she landed back in the hospital for another week. Tell your friend that she needs to make sure that the medication is on time. The doctor would not say "On the dot" if it was ok to be a 1/2 hour late.

RSV is serious - babies are often hospitalized for it. The child is getting a nebulizer tx to help him breathe....if he is only 1/2 hour off that might not be that bad, it depends on if the child is getting better or not. If worst comes to worst, call the social service office and report him, but first try to work it out with him - nicely explain your concerns.

the two considered one of my childrens have been born at 31 weeks. My now 7 365 days previous have been given the Synagis photographs for RSV, yet while he grew to become into 6 months previous (in December), he have been given RSV. fortuitously he did not might desire to be hospitalized for it. considering that then, he's had seasonal bronchial asthma that occurs ever 365 days between October and March and has had bronchitis some cases. i don't be attentive to if it is promptly concerning to any harm to his lungs that would have been led to by RSV or if it grew to become into simply by prematurity or genetics considering that my husband grew to become into asthmatic as a infant. My 4 month previous has won one shot so a good distance and hasn't had any issues yet, thank goodness. He did have undertaking respiration at start and grew to become into positioned on a CPAP device and then a nasal cannula, so i'm uncertain if he's extra succeptible to getting it simply by fact his lungs have been even weaker than his brother's (my eldest have been given 2 photographs of steroids while i grew to become into in untimely exertions yet my youngest in basic terms have been given one before he grew to become into born). i don't be attentive to once you would be bringing your infant abode, yet seeing because it is already November and it is getting chilly out, i could in basic terms advise going to the pediatrician and to kin properties (like for the vacations) yet in basic terms when you verify no person is ill first. verify human beings wash their palms before conserving the newborn and don't permit too a lot of human beings carry him considering that germs can survive outfits and such. whether the guy isn't ill, they are able to have the germs of somebody who grew to become into ill on them. you will possibly desire to not stay locked away on your place, yet shrink the quantity of time he's around different individuals. additionally verify that he gets the synagis photographs on time each month...the information superhighway internet site for synagis says that it does not artwork like a vaccination simply by fact it in basic terms lasts for extra or less 28 days. solid success, and it is awesome that your infant is doing so nicely!
