I'm 21 and 17 weeks pregnant! The pregnancy was unplanned, but most definately not unwanted... atleast on my part. Unfortunately my boyfriend of 3 years left me the moment I told him becuase he doesn't want anything interfering with his life-plan. I've contacted and informed my parents who are only willing to help me out by paying for everything the baby will need in the first 4 months... the problem is, I have no idea what new born babies need!!! Could anyone please help me draw up a list of everything I need to get for the baby???? Please.... I'm clueless but willing to learn!

Do a google or yahoo search for baby lists. You won't miss a thing, that's how I did it!!!!

I have a list for my third (I'm 19 weeks). Its on Excel and I can email it to you but not through Yahoo! Answers, they don't have an attachment function. Just email me with your preferred email address and I can send it to you.
For the first four months, you will need a bassinet or crib, a changing table, a stroller, a carseat (you must have the seat or you can't take the baby home from the hospital), and it really helps to have a bouncy seat and swing.
Besides furniture, you will need diapers in the following arrangement to start with if possible: Size N (2-3 packages but no more), Size 1 (3 small packages), Size 2 (4 packages), Size 3 (8+ packages). I have these listed as the normal packages you would find at the grocery store. You can save tons of money if you get a Sam's Club membership and buy in bulk. It costs us about $26 per huge box for Huggies and it would cost us just as much to buy the Parent's Choice generic brand at Walmart.
Keep season in mind when you buy or ask for clothes. You will need 8-12 onesies size 0-3, and 4-6 sleepers (I always got more I love the Gerber Sleep and Play ones). You will usually get a lot of outfits for size N and 0-3 so you shouldn't have to worry about that but make sure that you have a special outfit for coming home from the hospital in. It's usually most fun if you buy that one yourself. Your baby will be just a week or so older than mine so your littllr outfits will be for summer and autumn. Make sure you have a small jacket or a couple of sweaters for when the night air or the autumn turns chilly. Get warmer outfits in sizes 3-6 and 6-9 because they will be for autumn and winter. I always buy one or two "out-of-season" outfits and I have never not needed it (some weird circumstance or something). Hope that gets you started and if you email me I can send you the list my husbad and I are woking off of for our new baby.

Go to BabiesRus.com and they have an actual list of everything you need. I would look at things that have more than one use. Such as a high chair that can also be a booster seat. A playpen, bassinet, diaper changer combo-think they are called a pack and play. A baby bed that also is a toddler bed. A carseat that can be used from birth on up. I know there is a lot of cute things out there that every parent will want but you can get by fine with out it. You don't sound like you have much support so go for things that you know you will need-diapers, wipes, bottle, nipples, blankets, formula, pacifiers. Good luck.

I am a mother of three boys and I'm only 23. I know how challenging it can be. It can be done though. Take as much help from other people as possible and don't feel bad about it. Its to help your baby out. Take your boyfriend to court and get him to pay child support. I would defiently make it legal because he has already shown that he is not trust worthy. If he wants to stick arounf and be a father than that is a plus. The most important tip I can give you is to get on Wic now. They pay for almost all of the formula you will need. Its so expensive. You will save hundreds of dollars. As long as you meet the criteria the child can stay on Wic until the age of five. You can get food for yourself now while you are pregnant until the baby is 6 months old. You can get milk, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal and peanut butter.

Diapers size 0 - 2 ,Wipes, Burpies, Receiving blankets, Passy's, Blankets, Car set, Crib, Crib sheets, Pack n play, swing, thermometer, nail clippers, desitin cream, diaper bag, bottle, drinking water, clothes newborn up to 6 months, formula , Baby cereal, baby spoons, Tons of bottles, Powder, Baby wash, wash cloths, vasaline, to - go wipe container, bottle rack, baby moniter, Baby bath tub, bibs, walker. Hopes this helps some. Good luck and congratualtions on the baby. It will be the best thing that has ever happened to you I promise.

Crib
crib bedding set
car seat and head supporter
stroller
bouncer or swing
bottles
pacifier
formula
diapers
wipes
shampoo/lotion kit
clippers/thermometer
onezies
gowns
sleepers
no scratch mittens
socks
blankets
dresser
bottle warmer
bibs
wash clothes/hooded towels
out going outfits
*The list is endless but you'll learn what your baby needs most like diapers, formula, wipes, car seat, warm clothes, blankets, positioner for crib, bibs, bottles...
I'm sorry you have to do this on your own, no one should have to!! But, your parents seem like good people to help you buy everything for the first couple of months. I'm sure you could get assistance from the state like WIC, Medicaid and even food stamps. Babies are expensive but it's mostly their food and diapers. Start saving as much money as you can now because your truly going to need something for a rainy day. Don't worry, your age has nothing to do with it. Having a baby on your own it scary anyways. Just be responsible and do what's best for you and your baby...you should be fine!!
Also file for child support!!!!

If your parents are only willing to help you out with what the baby will need in the first four months then here goes: Crib, crib sheet, bumper pad, 5 receiving blankets, 3 warm blankets, 10 washcloths, 3 bath towels, 10 onsies, socks, several outfits, 10 bottles and nipples, pacifiers, bottle cleaning brush, swing, bassinet, bouncer seat, playpen, a few toys, formula, baby wipes, bath products, and most importantly DIAPERS. My advise is try to have a baby shower, and if that is not possible then try to get your parents to buy everything possible. Since the dad is not going to be around, definitely try to get child support and you should go and try to get some type of assistance. See if your state has a WIC program (it pays for formula), try to get food stamps, or anything else you may need. I wish you the best of luck.

Congrats. Your ex-boyfriend sounds like a jerk and you should be happy he is out of your life.

For a list, go to Babiesrus.com and look at their registry checklist. There you can see exerything you will need. You can NEVER have too many diapers! All sizes. Also, you should take the parenting classes they offer at the hospital you will be delivering in. Also, if you are planning on breastfeeding they even have a class for that. You should also look into books or resources on single parenting. That could help out too. I assume you have very loving parents and friends that will help you along the way. There are also tons of online dicussion groups that can help. Just search online. You can also subscripe to Baby talk magazine or American Baby those are FREE! Good Luck!

There is a lot of hype, but you can get by very sensibly with a few basic items. You will have the baby in the summer so you wont need lots of extras right away as far as clothes go. They grow so quickly and those cute outfits you have to have actually see very little use.
Sleep and Play jumpers, onesies, socks, baby washcloths, receiving blankets, burp rags, hat,
Car seat, crib, crib bedding, stroller, carrier (sling or front pack) - not a necessity but nice to have. baby bathtub, high chair - wont need this right away but before you know it. monitor, bouncy chair - this one is a lifesaver - trust me!
Diapers, wipes, baby shampoos, lotions etc. diaper rash cream, infant nail clippers, baby tylenol, sunscreen, pacifiers,
Feeding supplies - are you planning on breastfeeding? Pump, bottles, liners, bottle brush, boppy pillow - really makes feeding easier,
The rest is TLC, patience and rest!
Congrats and good luck!

Well first be prepared to get a lawyer to sue for child support that will help tremendously in money and if he thought it wasnt going to screw up his plans well he doesnt have to physically be around for that to happen get him financially and that will hurt him but dont fret he has to do something after all it takes two to make a baby so a list would be:
carseat, crib, sheets for crib, clothes, burp clothes, receiving blankets, diapers, wipes, some formula(can use at 6 months), bottles, stroller, high chair, blankets, educational toys, bouncy seat, go walk thru a baby store and write down things you see or look online at some websites good luck

you should definantly stock up on diapers and wipes, and formula if you are planning to bottle feed.If you are planning on breastfeeding, you should also have at least 1 can of formula and a bottle, its not as easy as it seams. you need baby cloths, baby hygene products (wash, nailclippers, diaper rash cream ect.), crib, I suggest a baby swing but not a nessesity, so not a must have. Mylocon drops (for gas, a definate lifesavor), a rectal thermometer, baby tylenol. Carseat, crib sheets. Don't read any of those what to expect in babies first year or any of those books, just go off of instinct and dr advise, those books cause unnessary stress. Most of all just relax and enjoy your baby. Hope this helps and congrats.
