I had my first child 3 days ago, i am not nursing due to school and work, there is no feasable way for pumping to work. My milk came in last night I am fully engorged and wondering what to do to speed up the process of drying up. and something for the pain.

If it were a choice between 4, 5 and 6 months, what is the best age for taking a baby with you on an overseas holiday? Thinking all the practicalities here and assuming breastfed but supplementing with formula. My husband and I want to start a family, but we also want to do another overseas trip soon. Can we possibly do both or are we crazy? What are your thoughts?

My son is almost a month old and has a stuffy nose. I feel that he should be at home until he is well or atleast until his cold gets better. My b/f has a controlling mother who wants everything her way. She wanted the baby to be at her house only 2 weeks after he was born because of family commin from NY 4 hours away, I didn't want to but I made and exception because they live so far away and when they see him again he would be a year old. Now my newborn has a cold . I usually go over to their house on the weekends, but she thinks the weekends are for her which are 4 his father and his dad comes to my house if he wants to see him before that. My b/f's mother is upset with me because I wanted my son to stay home until he feels a little better because she feels a cold is not a reason for me to stop her from seeing her grandchild. Another reason I don't want him there while he has a cold is because she refuses to turn on the heat it feels like a icebox over there. Do you think im wrong?

my 5 week old son, gets gassy, has diarrhea, fussy and cries due to the gas. my mother-in-law thinks he has colic and my husband thinks he is lactose intolerance. he said one of his friends has 2 kids that is lactose intolerance and they put them on soy milk and they were fine after that. i take him to the doctor tomorrow for his month old check up. my first one was a very good, the only time he fussed was when he was hungry, sleepy and sick. so this is new to me. what do you'all think. i looked up both and he has the sympoms of both, so i really don't know.

Hi. I gave birth to a wonderful new baby boy on dec. 29th. Since then I have attempted to breast feed but he just won't take to the breast. AT birth I had a c-section and unfortunetly I was unable to breast feed or hold him because of the effects of the anesthesia I ran a really high temp and was just totally out of it! I am still young about 21 years old and I am starting up school (college) again and I just don't have the time. I feel like I'm a failure at this---and I know breast feeding is a way to get the best nutrients. My breasts are almost back to their normal size I haven't pumped them really since the second week from birth. I feel horrible...should I just give up? and would breastfeeding at this current time be pointless? All commentary welcome.

P.S.- IF anyone out there has fed their child via the bottle from birth please leave your experience with that. Was your baby sick more often as a result of not being breast fed? All COMMENTARY WELCOME.

My twins are 14 and I am pregnant again and due in 2 weeks. I got the bedding set and I remember having crib bumpers before....but for the life of me I can not remember why???????? They seem like they would be dangerous - even if tied down properly. What if the baby rolled under there and got thier head stuck? How long do you use them for?
It sounds crazy but I can't remember.

It has been 8 wks since I had my daughter. My obgyn apt isnt until the 30th of this month. I tried to get one closer but they are booked up.
I have been having really bad cramps, almost to the piont where I am goinng to throw up. I cant eat because my stomache hurts. I am still bleeding and I have an odor coming from "there".
I thought the blood first off was suppose to get lighter and lighter untill it is gone. That never happened. It started to go away and then started getting heavy again.
I dont know what to do, can someone relate?

I am considering using cloth diapers when my son is born. Can anyone tell me their positive and negative experiences with them? Besides being economical, I like the fact that they are natural. But since I haven't had any experience with them thus far, I'm just wondering if I am making a proper and convenient choice. Thanks for your help!

My 1 month old seems to really suffer after I feed him (he's on formula), and even though i've tried different nipples and try my best to burp him, he cries endlessly after being fed. Any ideas?

My son is almost 11 months old and he's still not sleeping thru the nite. If he's in bed by nine (after eating) he wakes up anywhere from either one a.m. to 4 a.m. wanting to eat again. I have 6 year old twins who were sleeping thru the nite at 3 months (thank my lucky stars)!! What can I do?!? I'm 2 months pregnant and I need my sleep, seriously.
