DIBUCAINE OINTMENT!!!!. It's a topical anesthetic and works GREAT at relieving the itching as well as any discomfort.

You can buy it here, or probably at any pharmacy ~ http://www.anyotc.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=11462

It comes in a little tube and is an ointment you can apply whenever you go to the bathroom or if it is bothering you.

It contians 1% Dibucaine, Lanolin, purified water, white petrolatum and a perservative

The brand I have is Fougera

Ask me how I know :-)!!

It really works,
Congrats on your new little one,

Most of the time now the stiches are disolvable and will come out on their own. I used moist witch havel pads and left them on my pads after everytime I went to the bathroom. Itching means you are healing. It will get better soon.

Ok this might sound a little crazy, but trust me....(have two little ones of my own) Go out and buy the old fashion Lysol (the kind in the brown bottle). It has a horrible smell, but if you add a cap full to your bath and soak in it...VIOLA it helps to stop the itching. Because Lysol is a disinfectant it helps to rid your "area" of anything that might make you itchy. I know it sounds really grose..but IT WORKS!

It seems to me you should be able to remove the stitches if it look healed. Cut on one side of the knot with sharp scissors, grab the knot and pull, if it not want to come willingly you may try to moisten it with water or Olive Oil.
