For a full term baby? Anything from 5lbs to 12 lbs is "normal". Take into account the size of the parents - if they're both teeny tiny people, chances are they're not going to have a ginormous baby.

Anything over 5 1/2 lb is usually ok but there are smaller babies born healthy. My best friend had a 5 lb 2 1/2 oz healthy baby.

How about 6 lbs. 5 ounces. That is small but healthy if there are no complications due to the birth. My niece weighed 5 lbs. 8 ounces and was healthy.

For my baby pool we did from 5 pounds to 10 pounds. Knowing I wasn't going to have a 5 pounder and no where near a 10 pounder.

Under 5 lbs. they'll keep in the hospital. But I was under 5 lbs and turned out beautifully!! So even the smallest baby still has a fighting chance.

I know that less than 5 pounds 8 oz. is considered low birth weight, so you should be fine if you put something larger than 5 and a half pounds. 6-8 pounds is avreage and you will be fine in that range.

Under 5 pounds is considered "premature" but babies of that weight or even less can be healthy in the end.
Average is 6-8 pounds.

Well my son was only 3-1/2 lbs when he was born. And now at 1 year he's 30lbs! WOW. He did spend 3 weeks in the NICU though.
