Have your trip first and baby after. With a child that young, you'll have so many accessories to take with you, worry about how the child will travel (ie. can handle the flight or boat well), illnesses endemic to the place of travel, lack of holiday time due to naps or up all night with sleepless and/or cranky baby etc.
What a headache. And you're choosing to do this? whew!

I would not want to travel with a baby. They have so much stuff that you need to bring plus its too much dealing with a baby on a plane. I would take your trip first then have the baby. Like someone else said, if the baby is really young then it will probably sleep most of the way, but still I wouldn't recommend travelling with a baby.

I flew with mine at 4 weeks. He did quite nicely i held him the full time! basically feed him or supply him a pacifier once you're placing out so his ears dont pop! also be particular to have a blanket because its chilly! it really is amazingly aquishy so in case your sat next to a higher man or woman or a jerk that's going to likely be rougher. in case you bypass as a lot because the table and tel them you're travelling with a gentle toddler they could help you you and also you may leave ur carry ons correct there and they are going to placed it less than the airplane. I really suggets basically takign his diaper bag actual on the airplane. your toddler and the diaper bag is sufficient to maintain your palms complete. also in case you purchase the pre made formulation they don't seem to be think to open it and if the do they use a lil strip and placed it above the liquid so both way it works out. also you may take bottles of water and say its for the toddler. =) confirm you verify with the airport some will enable the water some received't.

it's totally possible. The earlier, the better (babies become more active, more wakeful, requiring more entertainment as they get older), but any age is feasible. I just took my 10mo daughter for a holiday trip to South America. The long flight was only difficult when she started to get bored. Mostly though airplanes make babies sleepy. You might, however, want to bring a nanny with you on your vacation if you can afford it, so you actually feel like you're enjoying your vacation from time to time.

6 mos., the later the better for a young baby. Make sure in general for travelling if you're in cold climates to not cover him with those car seat wraps once you're inside a vehicle. I know a couple who forgot to lift the flap, and once they got to X-mas w/ their new 2 mos. old, they discovered she'd suffocated. I cannot imagine the grief they suffered and still do to this day. Be safe, and don't take unnecessary risks. If you have to go, go, but make sure the little one is safe.

I would say go on the trip first! It may be a long time before you and your husband go on a nice vacation alone like this again. And I would suggest going before you are pregnant or in early pregnancy. Trust me, once you have the baby, it won't be as easy!

THE ONLY THING ABOUT TRAVELING WITH A BABY OVERSEAS IS THAT YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE BABY NOT HAVING ALL OF THE SHOTS THE BABY NEED. SINCE I HAVE TO CHOOSE THEN I WOULD SAY 6 MONTHS BECAUSE THE BABY WOULD HAVE HAD AT LEAST THREE SETS OF IMMUNIZATIONS.

All ages has its pros and cons. Yes the younger the baby he/she will sleep for most of it, but also, if you wanted a moment alone out of your hotel room or whatever, who is going to watch the baby.
