I've heard that cats can give a baby some type of infection? Is this true?

Just curious to see what other parents are feeding their baby @ 9 months.

Right now my baby eats (per day):

22oz of milk
2oz of juice
1 jar of fruit
1 jar of vegetable or dinner (ex. turkey & rice dinner)
6 tbls of rice cereal

* I know that every baby is different-- just curious to see what other parents are doing:)

HI, We are having a baby girl in February and since it is our first one I have no idea what I need. Theres a lot of checklist availabe online but those have too much stuff in it. I just whant to know the necessary stuff that I've got to have when I come home from the hospital. I'll buy the rest as I'll need it after that. There is no one I can ask since my mom passed away two months ago and my mother-in-law lives too far away and doesn't understand the word "necessary". So I need a checklist for pretty much everything. I do have a crib and changing table + pad and stroller and a car seat. What else do I need? I am going to breast feed if possible ... thanks :)

The father and I of our 6 week old baby are not together and I am sending announcements, should I put his name on them? Or should I just put my name? We do not have many common friends so the ones I would send most people do not know him.

I had drink last night right after i pumped my milk... it was about midnight when i finished it. It is now 10 45am... is it ok to give that milk to my baby.... ive looked it up in the what to expect the first year and it says to have a drink after you pump or feed to give it a few hours before the next feeding... so is it safe then to give it to him???

Our son is still waking up 2-3 times a night, and he is almost 7 months old. I dont want to Ferberize him atl all, we are fine with him waking up, we are just curious as to what age your babies slept straight through?

Okay.. so they say that breastfeeding helps you drop those extra pounds (along with all the wonderful stuff it does for your baby).. and I am just wondering if pumping does the same thing. Does pumping help lose the extra weight too? Surely your body can't tell that it's plastic sucking on your nipple instead of a baby, right?

When son was born my milk wasn't coming in and 3 days later I had to stop because he was losing weight and was feeding for hours and not being satisfied. 3 weeks later and I was in shower and milk was basically pouring out, can I attempt breastfeeding again or is it to late?

my little boy is 4 months.
He is lovely and good, but sometimes struggles to sleep.
My friends were over with their 8 month olds.
They were saying that their baby wasn't so nervous like mine.
When he gets tired or excited he shakes terrible and is generally very stiff. He's not as relaxed as the other babies.

Is this something to concern myself with.

Also, he has a white spot on his gum, I thought it was a tooth, but it isn't and it also isn't thrush, do you Know?

Do you think 6 months old is too early for a sippy cup? We started our son on one last night. He didn't protest at all and did really good with it. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm going out on my own and starting my own business. Now is a good time since I no longer have any clients (since ihave a 6 week old) so it won't be a conflict of intrest to leave and start my own business. Anyway . . .

I plan to offer many services for new and expecting mothers.

From childbirth education to post-pardum care, newborn care, lactation consultant, baby-wearing, a whole range of things. Any hopefully I can find another mom or two to help teach the things I'm not familiar with (such as cloth diapering, and raising a healthy vegan, ect)

I want a name that I can use for my email and website so it needs to be rather short. I thought of mommys helper but it is already taken. Any ideas?

Hi! Since my husband and I have decided to throw out our old crib, we need to decide on a money saving alternative before the baby comes. I will be having a c-section, and plan on using a bassinet of some sort initially. We are also trying to save a bit of space, as we don't have an additional room for the baby (he'll be in our to start with, and then share his older sister's room later). I would love your input on this co-sleeper, especially: pros, cons, how long your baby used it (plus apprx weights), and if the side permanently stays down??? I do know that I want a bassinet bcs I'll be breastfeeding, and I will eventually buy a crib, I just cannot decide if this one is worth the investment (can I use it longer than 3-4 months?) Is it better to buy a pack and play version??? Thanks in advance for your time and help!

my 6 month olds arm was out its socket this morning. I took him to chiropractor and she adjusted it. He crawls and was wondering if he should be on his fours today because his arm is still so loose.
How long will it still be loose for and what should I refrain him from doing? Thanks

What can I do? She constantly tries to open them lol. Is my girl old enough for some potty training or what does that mean? And how would I know she's "gotta go"?

Thanks.
