My son did the same thing, even after I went through my diet and altered things around to suit him (I was eating very simple things for the first 3 months). Still he threw up over and over again. I finally realized it was that he was eating too much and needed to get rid of some to feel comfortable. He stopped overeating after my milk finally normalized. Instead of only deleting one thing at a time, I would stop eating everything except myabe rice and one specific vegetable for like a week. You won't be malnourished from a short period of time and your baby will be fine as well. If you notice he stops throwing up, then take it from there and add one more item to your diet and wait a few days of eating just those three things. And then continue from there. As someone else had mentioned different foods upset her babies' tummies, it could be the same for you and not an an allergy but discomfort until he gets older! If worse comes to worse, check with a Lacatation Consultant and/ or your doctor. Hope all is better and try to stick with breastfeeding!

Spitting up is normal. As long as its not projectile and he's gaining weight I wouldn't worry. Does it bother him? Is he fussy before or after? He may not spit up with the formula because it's heavier. This of course does not outweigh the benefit of breastmilk.
If it is a milk intolerance or allergy, lactose must be removed for 3 weeks before you see a change (all lactose including butter, cheese, etc). If he was very fussy and gassy with the spitting up I would try altering my diet. If it's just spit up I wouldn't worry about it.
Call your pediatrician before switching to formula please :)

how old is he? Most babies do spit up after eating until they are older.

Does he throw up with formula? If he throws up after eating anything he might have gastroesophageal reflux.

If he only throw up when you breast feed him and not with formula it could be something else you are eating. My oldest son threw up everytime I ate italian food... my youngest threw up everytime I ate a potato and things like that.

I would check with the babies doctor... it could be that your isn't tolerating your diet, needs soy formula or has reflux.
