i don't think either one is more affordable than the other. it depends on what you buy.....if you don't splurge that often and buy rediculous things that they dont really need (btw that's what grandparents are for lol) and you have a good job it doesnt really matter

I think its more affordable to have a boy. Because when girls grow up they want a lot of expensive stuff, I should know I'm a girl and I do the same thing.

Honestly I have to say it depends on the parents and the children.
Alot say boys are easier to potty train and less diapers means that is cheaper. Boys are more daring and get hurt more (additional visits to docs) and the bills from that are more expensive. If the father is one of those that wants every toy car or toy he didn't have or ones that he wanted as a small child you will see alot going to that. Mom's are a little more watchfull of what the little girl's get. Mama's boy...Daddy's girl sterotype.

Well girls need all the little special things like frilly dresses, hair cuts, prom dresses, and a car and all the IN clothes.
Boys still need clothes, bikes, and cars. Also with boys they like the expensive toys... motor cycles, 4 wheelers, video games, guns, hunting clothes etc. I guess in the long run it will equal out.

I had one of each and they weren't that different. My daughter required more clothes, but her clothes were generally some cheaper, The persnal items, tampons, femine wash cloths, etc were not too expensive either.
He jewelry was trinkity stuff, so there again not too bad.
My son's shoes and clother were more, by a good bit, but less accessories, so that balanced.
Whoa! My wife is looking over my shoulder and she said he was WAY cheaper! I'm not arguing with her on that! Boys =cheaper, Nuff said!

Boys! Girls want the perfect clothes, dress up stuff, princess cars, Disneyland trips, and all the "stuff" their friends have. Boys just want a couple of Hot Wheels and a $3 Wal-Mart t-shirt!

I think its about the same, though it has been proven girls are a little more expensive. Girls health care tends to be more expensive than boys and their maintenance bill (hair, clothing jewelry, etc. is more expensive than boys. Boys eating habits and extracirricular activities (basketball shoes, uniforms) are more expensive than girls. Thats why I believe it costs about the same to have a boy or girl. I personally want twins, one boy and one girl.

Since kids cost so much in general, it really doesn't matter. We have a little girl, and granted I love to buy her cute clothes with hats and jackets and matching shoes, but it honestly doesn't cost us a fortune. Girls probably cost slightly more because of those little things, but they sure are worth it :)

Having one boy and three girls, I have to say they are almost equally expensive. My son is less demanding of "things" so that helps. But all kids in general are freakin' expensive!!! Between what they need, want, extracurricular activites....I'm broke!
