I heard that you were not to use baby powder on boys because it can harm the boys penis or somehow infect it. Is this true??

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I work 40+ hours a week. I will be taking off 6 weeks when my little girl is born, but after that I need to go straight back to my workaholic job. How do I go about breast feeding and still working? Do I have to pump, then go back home? How much milk will I get and how long does it take? How does it all work? Which pump is the best? Someone help.....as you can see I'm a first time mommy....

I absolutely love the name Ava but feel it might be getting a little too common. What do you think?

Also what middle names do you like with Ava?
Two ideas: Ava Belle, Ava Summer

When I first started my job in July, I met a young pregnant woman. I did not get to know her well before she went on maternity leave, but I was truly heartsick to learn that her baby boy was either stillborn or died of birth complications. I am going to the service for the baby on Monday and, other than, "I am so sorry," I don't know what to do or say for the mother.

When I had kids I did not breast feed. However, a friend of mine just had her baby. He was 9 lbs. at birth. She will only feed him every three hours. I thought if you breast fed you did it "on command". Both times I have seen him, he has been sticking out his tongue and fussy. Which would have meant with my daughters they are hungry. I said "I think he's hungry." She told me he had another hour before he could eat again. Now, here comes the best part... She is "training" him to sleep through the night and skipping his nightly feedings so he learns to sleep. Remember he is only 5 days old. Is this something that sounds normal? It sounds totally ridiculous to me. She is starving him for six hours. Also, the nurse told her husband to have him suck on HIS nipples so he can have the bonding with the child. I think they have gone insane. My daughter was 10 pounds at birth and she ate up to 4 ounces every two hours some days. Does this sound crazy to you too?

I'm asking this question because, when I took him to his pediatrician the receptionist told me she didn't need to see my medicaid card. I got my bill the other day, and it says to call when I recieve my card or letter of denial. So is my card what they need or are they talking about a whole other card for my son?

My son is a month old and he had his first doctor's appt. a week ago. His doctor said that the back right side of his head was flatter than the other side. I knew this but I didn't really think too much of it. He just was sleeping on that side of his head a lot. The doctor told me to try to correct it and help it fill out I needed to place stuffed animals and objects for him to look at on the left side of his head so he would stay off the right side. She also told me to turn his head to the left and hold it there for about ten seconds a few times a day to make that muscle work more and become stronger. I've been doing all the stuff she's said but even after I do all that stuff, whenever I come back to get him after a nap, he'll be turned back the other way on the side of his head that is flat. I've even tried wedging a rolled up receiving blanket and placing it behind the flat side of his head. This hasn't been working too well. He still manages to turn back. Should I be worried?

I recently sold a few formula checks on Ebay that were close to exp. & I knew I wouldn't use, I found that there are people who buy hundreds a day, it can't be for personal use. The buyer of mine purchased over 1000 in a month! Do the companies buy them back or what, I found it very strange!

I have a 10 day old infant who was diagnosed with a reflux just after birth.

My biggest concern is that she may have the reflux but she ONLY regurgitates and spits up through her NOSE......

She keeps spitting up even after we have switched to soy formula, leave her upright for 30 minutes after feedings, burp her frequently.......

I am just unsteady about it all.....I have never heard of ANY baby, having a reflux through their nose.

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A NEWBORN?

I could use all the advise and support that I can get.

I'm a new mom, and right now we're using the playtes vent aire bottles, but I noticed on some gerber bottles it has pictures that tell you when you should give your baby that bottle, like 4+ months and so on, well my baby is 3 months now, so at 4 months should we get different bottles, or use these same bottles (but replace the nipples of course) till he starts on a sippy cup??? I was just wonderin...

Did you know that at even as young as 11 weeks old, babies suck their thumbs in the womb? Isn't that weird!? It is to me. So here's another question: If that baby is just a "bunch of cells and isn't a human or a baby yet" then why does it suck it thumbs or even have thumbs at all for that matter? Why do people still allow the slaughterings to happen to these human infants?
