Really think about what kinds of activities you'll be doing with the stroller. And don't feel like you HAVE to go with a travel system.

Many of those strollers are huge. The Graco QuattroTour would not fit in my Civic under any circumstances, and it barely fits in my parents' Highlander. It's ENORMOUS.

I had a Metrolite, and it was fine, but it was big. It didn't steer that easily. I do a lot of walking, often with a dog, and being able to steer one-handed was important to me. The Metrolite made that tough. I live in Minnesota, and the Metrolite was pretty hopeless in snow. I do city walking, but not much public transportation, so the Metrolite was OK. But if I had to catch the subway or the bus, I don't think it would have been a good choice.

Here's the thing, though: many, many strollers have adapters that will allow you to use your infant car seat with them. For example, my Phil and Ted's E3 will take a SnugRide car seat. (I got it used, for about half price, and it carries both my kids.) And I agree with a previous poster that a sling or an Ergo baby carrier is a way more convenient choice in a lot of circumstances.

Join the Yahoo! StrollerSWAP group. You can tell them about the activities you think you'll be doing, and your price range, and they can recommend all sorts of strollers. You'll be able to get high-end stroller used or discounted, if you want, or they'll at least be able to advise you about the sizes, etc. of various travel systems.

Don't just go to Babies'R'Us or Target and buy one. Really do your homework first. Because a good stroller will be used for YEARS, and you want one that you really like and really works for you.

I purchased the Quattro Tour LX LATCH Travel System about 6 1/2 months ago when I had my son. I absolutely LOVE it!!!

It has a parent organizer tray with storage compartment, 2 cup holders, clock, and temperature monitor. The storage basket underneath can lower for easy loading and holds tons of stuff.

The car seat also clicks into the stroller like all other travel systems, but also has 2 other safety locks to ensure the car seat wont fall off the stroller.

It folds down easily with one hand and is very convenient. I strongly recommend it!

After watching several parents get turned away from the escalator at the museum today, I was reminded again of how much happier I was with the sling over the stroller. I'd say the sling is by far the best baby travel system - hands free, goes anywhere, keeps baby next to you. I didn't know about the sling for my first born, and I remember feeling so nervous walking at a crafts fair and seeing all the lit cigarettes being carried along at his face level.

if your going to go with graco, go for the metrolite travel system, it is much lighter than their other travel systems. It folds with one hand, and only weighs 17lbs. their other ones weigh 28lbs or so. Combi also has a good travel system, along with pegpergo. it all depends on what you are looking to spend. Also there is a strooler type base that will hold your infant carrier. it is called snap and go, or grago has on also. I'm not sure of the name.

I really like my evenflo stroller with carseat that i got for my daughter. Its easy to maneuver, big storage carpartment under it and many other little features that i found helpful. I've heard of so many recalls on graco stuff that i only feel safe for carseats and strollers to be evenflo. Plus they are really durable.

you have to take in a couple of factors. Check out www.onestepahead.com for some ideas. research amazon. I loved my graco system from a few years back, but they got rid of it. try out a few on the showroom floor to see which ones open the easiest, steer easiest, and are balanced for you. Remember...they get heavy! (Oh and make sure your car trunk fits it!) Bought one once that was too big for the car....that stunk!

It depends on what you are looking for, how much you want to spend and how much time you'll be using it. I like Graco brand items the best.
