the lab work i had done came back, and apparently i have a UTI... i didnt really have time to ask as many questions as i wanted to !!!!(cuz im at work and there were cliants around),but i did find out that i have to pick up my rx (not harmful to baby) today and take 4 pills a day for 14 days!!!! seems pretty serious... but im wondering will a UTI hurt my baby? can this cause preminant damage to my baby? did i do something to cause this?? did i not wipe right? can this get passed on like a STD? is my man at risk for getting one? (cuz i know he could get a irratation on his penis if i have a yeast infection) is this something that can usually happen to prego women?? have any of you had a UTI? if so what happened??

this is strange cuz i never felt any type of symptoms...

sorry im bombarding with so many questions (i will ask the advise nurse all these Q's too, but i just want to ease my mind for the time being) im just pretty freaked out!

thank you

My sister in law just had a boy, and was expecting a girl. Both showers produced all girl stuff. Everything has been washed and ironed preparing for the baby. Now it's not returnable!

Is there anyone who has some suggestions, or maybe same situation but reversed that she could swap with? They don't have alot of money to buy all new stuff.

She needs help fast!

I was changing my 6 week old's diaper (new parent! YAY!) and he knocked over the baby powder and it got on my shirt. Normally I'd chalk it up to being an accident, but this isn't the first time it's happened. It's like he's doing it on purpose.

Should I spank him now or wait another month or so? He's pretty small and cries really easy but his Grandma says he's smart so I think he might learn his lesson.

I just want to know what you guys think before I tan his hide.

Thanks.

to drink for yourself? because I cannot imagine a parent putting poison inside their child's milk.

anyway, how many of you have done that, put alcohol inside your baby's bottle just so he can get a "nice" nap.

My 10 month old has diarrhea. Her doctor said not to worry, plenty of fluids, etc., but I've heard there are certain foods one can feed to babies to flush out the bacteria. Names supposedly form an acronym?? Anyone know what to feed her, what not to?

I have a one month 3 day old daughter who won't stay asleep unless she is being held or in her swing or bouncer. I need suggestions on how to get her to stay asleep in her crib or bassinet without movement because I can't get her used to sleeping these ways for the obvious reasons (she will outgrow her swing etc.) I am EXHAUSTED, what to do???

My sister's baby has had his injections but not his 4 month injection yet. My nephew has the sniffles/cold, should she keep them apart? Or is that over reacting?

Sensible answers please from parents and people with sound medical knowledge. Thanks.

A teenage mother was arrested Thursday after police said her 3-month-old daughter fell into a bucket of vomit and died.

Savarin Dejesus, 18, left the child with a baby sitter at an East Harlem group home where she was living and then headed out for a night of partying Sept. 15, police said. When she returned, she went to her room, set a bucket next to her bed in case she became sick and fell asleep with the baby, Niah Ford, in her arms, they said.

Dejesus vomited in the bucket that night, and later Niah tumbled out of her arms and landed in the bucket, police said. Dejesus didn't discover what had happened to Niah until the next afternoon, they said.

Niah was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. It appeared she had drowned in the bucket, which was filled with water and vomit, police said.

Dejesus was charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child

I'm making a DVD (home video) for my in-laws and my parents. I'm trying to get as much cute stuff that I can but I don't really know what to capture. All of our family lives far away and our son is seven months--so we want them to be able to see him--even if it's not in person. I have video of peek-a-boo, him playing in his exersaucer, and bath time. Now I just don't know what else to film, any ideas?

My little sweetie is 2 weeks old. While I don't expect her to start sleeping through the night any time soon, I would still like some advice on how to get her to sleep a little longer...eventually leading to her sleeping through the night. Right now, she's waking up every two hours (like clockwork).

I've asked her doctor, but she said she will just start sleeping for longer periods once she's around a month old. Good answer...but I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to move the process along a little. Any experienced mommies or daddies have any tips?

Yesterday I took my son for a well baby visit. The doctor told me that his frontal lobe suttures are closing together too soon. She said that if it continues to close or closes completely then he may have to have surgery to reopen it in order for his brain to grow. Has anyone else heard of this? Apparently this isn't suppose to close until he is 18 months or 2 years old. That's a long time to worry about something. Do you think I should get a second opinion?
