My 4 1/2mo. has NO sleep pattern. He fights sleep "every" time I put him down.(which I only do when he's tired). He is up 2x at night still to eat, and up early am. He only catnaps all day off and on. It is extremely difficult as I have other children. Seems I spend all my time trying to get this baby to sleep, yet he doesn't sleep enough. How do people get their babies into a routine?

I have no professional experience with babies, so any little bit helps. Like how do I know why a baby is crying? How do I change a diaper? etc. THanks!

Ok this is kinda gross -but it happened so here goes
I left my 8 month old daughter with her daddy & her brother (my step-son) whose 11 - I went to the store & was gone for 30 minutes to buy dinner - When I came back my step-son told me while his dad was outside -he changed his sister's diaper
And it was a poopy diaper - he turned his head away for 2 seconds and when he turned back around he said her foot had gotten in the Poo & she had already stuck her foot in her mouth !!!! In other words she got POO in her mouth !!!!
They both said they wiped it out with a babywipe and got it all out
I was FURIOUS !!!! And SO upset !
I took a wash rag and rinsed her mouth out with water
I called my mom & told her what happened & she said she should be fine -but just give her some yogurt -cause it should kill any bacteria in her mouth from the poo -
But I'm still worried she could get sick - she seems to be fine - but should I take her to the Dr. anyway ?Has this happened to anyone??

We think that she may have a phobia to the bottle or it is behavioral. She also will not drink from a sippy cup either. She has no problem sucking because she does just fine sucking on a pacifier. We have tried different bottles and formula with no success. We have to trick her to drink any formula such as rocking her to sleep with the pacifier in her mouth and once she completely asleep we pull the pacifier out and stick the bottle in........and then she will suck on it. She was diagnosed with reflux at 2 months. We are worried that she isn't getting the adaquate amount of formula for her age. She only has 12 to 15 oz of formula each day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a six week old babygurl. Just wondering around what age other parents started putting their baby in there own room to sleep by themselves? My fiance' tells me we should let her sleep in her own room, but I feel unsecure about it. It right beside our room and we have a baby monitor, but every time I have put her in there I seem to get up and check on her every 5 minutes. I end up rolling her basinet in our room by the bed by morning. Can I please get others opinions on this.

My 4 month old baby finally took a bottle today, so now instead of freezing all my milk I get to send it with her to daycare (she wasn't drinking any milk other than an ounce here and there until today-- thank goodness she finally got the hang of it! I've been back to work for a little over a week now). I pump about 20 or so ounces a day. Assuming I'm away from her for 9 1/2 hours a day, how many ounces of fresh breastmilk should I send with her to daycare? How many ounces per bottle should I send? I have no idea how much milk she drinks otherwise as she is breastfed on demand and has never had bottles other than for practice (so like 1-2 ounces at a time) until I went back to work.

Chronic or acute? I was breastfed, and I had bordeline hypertension until I went on a sans-junk diet and on a extreme whole foods and heatlh kick. I also have problems concentrating, but have not been diagnosed with ADD. I had an intestinal virus twice since I've been here on Earth, as well about 10-15 colds, never had the flu, but I have also been plagued by miscellaneous maladies as a child like chickenpox, ringworm, and sinus infections...oh, yeah, and one nasty ear infection as a baby. I am now 26 years old. My mom breastfed me just under a year.

Import a lactating yak from Tibet to milk for your child, or buy some formula for it? I was just wondering...I mean, I hear my Tibetan friend Chaou speak very highly of yak milk, and how it is used to feed babies in some cases. Will the kid stand a better chance in the absence of titty juice with the yak? Or is formula the route to take in that case?

Breastfeeding is very important to me. When I give the baby a pacifier, she seems to get confused about the difference of the pacifier and the breast. The nurse says pacifiers can help prevent SIDS and it's a great soother for her...especially at night. However, she doesn't seem to want the breast after having had the pacifier. Any suggestions? Is there something else to soothe her at night so I can get a little bit of rest? She is a big time suckler....she always seems to have to suck on something to keep her calm. (4 days old)
