You CAN, but the baby will throw it up. The baby needs real formula or breastmilk, otherwise you'll be giving him/her something that can't be digested. Even if the baby does keep it down, it doesn't have the nutrition the baby needs to survive and the baby can risk malnutrition within days.
If you don't have money for formula, go to a local hospital and ask for a free can and make an appointment with WIC right away!

If you mean baby formula in powder form, yes you can use spring or bottled water to mix it. In that case, there shouldn't be a problem.
However, if you mean powdered skim, 2% or homogenized milk powder mixed with water for a baby, that's different and not recommended. Babies are actually lactose intolerant until about 1 year of age. Once they hit a year old, they can start whole milk. They don't recommend 2% or less until the child is almost 2 years old.

Do you mean powdered formula? Because regular milk, no matter what form, is too harsh for a baby's stomach. You should not be giving a newborn anything but formula. Didn't your pediatrician explain all of this?

what do u mean by powder milk formula. if it is a baby milk formula then also give it with clean filtered water and possible warm water.
yeah it is okay to give that . It will be best if mother's milk is given. But in case that is not possible a decent baby formula with cleant distilled and possible warm water is okay. But yeah do consult pediatrician in case of doubt.

You can mix baby formula into spring water. If you give a baby powedered milk and spring water your baby will become malnorished and could become very sick.
Go to wic they can help you with the right formula.

yes.. distilled is much cleaner it is the more pure of all the bottled waters
my ped dr told me I was wasting my money though, because if I had city water, it is more than okay to use to make bottles without boiling,
these days our water supplys are very pure also the floride in the tap water is a nutrient that your baby neeeds... u can also buy nursery water if you don't feel safe with tap (honestly that is what I used for the first 4 months)

OMG ppl read to much into this. Yes you can use any type of water you want as long as you dont feel its harmful and just watch the babies reaction and is there and and signs of diahrea of constipation or if the baby is just acting a little odd to you call the doctor just to make sure its fine. there is no need whatsoever to buy th expensive BABY WATER. water is water. but of course if its discolored or tastes bad dont do it. a mother instinct is better than someone elses advice.
