my daughter rolled everywhere til about 10 months old. it was just faster for her and she liked it. we tried showing her how to crawl, but no dice. oh well. then she crawled for a little bit, but then went straight to walking. as long as your child is getting exploring time on the floor, dont worry. 7 months is still really young, and soon, she will be mobile and you will be chasing her everywhere for the next couple years. Trust me, enjoy this! your entire life changes once they start walking. you can just take them with you to places and have them just sit in their seat or something. not gonna happen. once shes mobile, you cant stop her!

alot of baby's do not crawl right away. My baby's rolled and scooted first. But try to let her get stuck up against the couch after rolling. Let her roll into places she would have to crawl out of. Let her get upset, then rescue her. Mabey place things around her,(that can not hurt or suffocate) and make her not roll everywhere. she will get it. eventually. Just remember the more time a baby spends on the floor, she will figure things out faster.
good luck

My son never really crawled. He rolled a bit late (besides when he was two weeks old, he rolled twice!!), but then was pulling himself up more than crawling. Don't worry, every child is different and she may be one that doesn't do much crawling. Just keep doing what you are doing and things will work out!!

Just give her plenty of floor time. When her back muscles are strong enough she will start crawling. Or not. she may find it easier and less frustrating to roll. Some children never crawl they roll or scoot, then travel ( Pull them selves into a standing position, and travel from item to item holding on) then walk.
You can continue to put things she likes just out of reach but she will probably just roll to them or find something closer to play with. Kids are funny, individual and weirdly independent. She will do her thing in her time.

What does the doctor say about that sweetie? Are the rest of her 'motor' functions developing on schedule? I know all children grow differntly, but my daughter was walking @ 9 months. So I know she must have been crawling at 4-5 months or so. Is she being held alot?

It sounds like you're doing the right things. Does she sit up on her own yet? That is an important precursor. I think giving her floor time as much as possible and doing what you're doing will encourage her to crawl or pull herself up as soon as she's ready. All children develop at different paces. Good luck!

At first my daughter kinda rolled and sat up to get around, now she is crawling every where.
To encourage her to crawl, we would dangle shiny things in front of her. The first thing was my friends watch, then she just went for everything on her own.

You are doing all the right things. Keeping something desirable just out of reach is the best way to encourage her to crawl. If you have carpet and she wears corduroy, you might think about something without so much grippiness.

Goodness..is that really important to force on her? My girls did not crawl until 9 months, but they were climbing the stairs way before that skill. I really think you should just is really up to them. Give her the space to crawl and the encouragement only after she is successful. 7 months is way too young for such pressure from Momma, already!

My son didn't crawl until he was 11 months and then walked by 14 months. What you are doing is good, but don't rush her, she will do it in her own time!
