My sister in law just had a boy, and was expecting a girl. Both showers produced all girl stuff. Everything has been washed and ironed preparing for the baby. Now it's not returnable!

Is there anyone who has some suggestions, or maybe same situation but reversed that she could swap with? They don't have alot of money to buy all new stuff.

She needs help fast!

No idea what to do now, but first rule is NEVER remove tags from the baby clothes, let alone wash them until baby is born. Because if you do, you are always bound to have the opposite sex...

I would say good will and Garage sales, thrift stores. I go in them all the time and see tons of boy stuff! she can also bring in the clothes to the thrift stores and get them as a donation on taxes. Do you know of anyone who has had a boy and has some old baby clothes. put out flyers maybe asking for old baby clothes and just say "had a boy expected a girl! need clothes call 555-9842. just a thought lol

Im really sorry about this what she needs to do is have a look through the clothing and see what can be used ie babygros in colours of lemon and white and keep them for the baby as these can be disguised with carrdigans if they have any evidence of it being a girls or they could be used for night time as no1 will see the baby in them and as for the rest put them up for sale on ebay as new item bundles with out tags and that way she will get rid of them quicker good luck and congratulations to you all

If you have stuff from Walmart- you may be able to get them to do an exchange. They can check clothing items by the tag inside the clothing and I saw a woman in the return line last week that returned an item she had washed because it shrunk. It's worth a shot. Explain what happened and they may let you make some exchanges. Good Luck! What an unexpected suprise!!

I am sorry about your situation, but she should be grateful that she has any clothes, for her baby. I don't think it's much of a big deal, people really don't follow the old traditions anymore. Just use the ones that you have, you know the clothes are new, and they will be outgrown, before you know it. When you don't need them anymore, the salvation army will take them and put them for sale. When they are sold you will have to give them a percentage of the sale..Good Luck, to the new mom..

Go on Graigs List and list it and ask for a set price, things go fast on that site. I know this is sort of wrong but depending on the store from which items were bought, you can exchange them, let them know the situation or if they don't look like they have been washed then you can return then.

There's a lot of used baby clothing stores. See if she can "trade" them in. Small baby clothing only gets worn a few times before the baby grows out of it. She can pick clothing that is in perfect condition.

Get the clothes second hand. Borrow some clothes from some friends or family who have boys. Then sell the clothes on ebay.

This happened to me too! We were expecting twins boys and ended up with boy/girl twins. My poor baby girl had to wear boy clothes for weeks. Try freecycle.org. If you live in New Mexico I have tons of baby boy stuff.

I suggest going to a second-hand store that buys used baby stuff. if things are brand new, they willpay good for them, then shop there... (you don't have to worry about hings being unsanitary, i've worked at one and it's completely fine) its like having a gargae sale , but making more money
