phone the nhs direct and tell them exactly what colour it is and when he/she is doing it. If he being sick after a bottle it might be the milk or some mucus from you that is still in his system but if it is all the time i would take him to the doctors or a walk in centre.
Hope he/she gets well soon x

HiThere I am a mum of 3 the youngest being 6 weeks and all 3 of them coughed up quite a bit of phlem in the first week or so usually in the middle of the night giving me a heart attack as you think they are choking.

Has your health visitior not been out to see you, as they are usually great at reassuring you as too what you should do, I have my H V number on the notice board and can phone for advice whenI need it.

What harm can it do to phone the doctors and get them seen too if anything it will put your mind at rest and that is why we have a NHS so use it thats why its there.

Also another health visitor point once you get this sorted make apoint of finding out who yours is and get their name and number as they are great at bypassing the snooty receptionist who will tell you there are no appointments until next week, the health visitor will listen to your concerns and usually get you seen asap with the doctor if the need arises with your little one

It is also very normal to worry about your new baby especially the first

I am sure your baby will be fine so make sure you enjoy this time as before you know it they are giving you cheek and answering back....LOL

My first had a huge amount of phlem that he spewed over the first week.

But I would not rely on Answers - and I mean absolutely no offence to anyone. Take him to the doctor and get him seen to, the sooner the better. If it turns out to be nothing but harmless phlem then at least a professional will have reassured you. Always err on the side of caution with your child.

He might even have a problem with his tubes. I know someone whose 7 year old was being constantly sick and hardly ate - and had gone on from birth. Turned out his pipes weren't wide enough and a wee op saw him better. I am not trying to scare you !! But it is something that noone had ever considered.

Best advice is still to take him to the doc.
x

take your child to see your doctor just to be on the safe side but usually it sounds as though it's just muscus as s/he is still very young, but it could be that s/he has a cold coming on and again this is the only way your baby can get rid of this is to vomit it up, but just take your baby to see your doctor. Your doctor will be able to double check everything is ok and as it's still very early days it is better to be on the safe side and put your mind at rest and the doctor will want to make sure that your baby stay well hydrated because dehydration can occur quickly with small babies and can be fatal if not treated quickly. Green colour usually indicates an infection but if its clear then i believe thats good, (just fluid) but remember to keep giving milk or fliud even if s/he still being sick you still must keep fluid going in.
