Is it true that microwaving a bottle is bad? And if so why?

And what about using city tap water?

Because if using city tap water is ok then I could just use that to heat the bottle...you know mix the powder with warm water.

So I bought this bottle warmer and I don't plan on using the cooling part, only the warmer. But it seems like a lot of trouble any ways. Is it worth it? Does it work well? And does anyone know how long it takes to heat a bottle? Is it pretty accurate?

My 8 month old used to sleep like an angel 12 hours a night but for the last 2 months has been a real problem waking 3 or 4 times a night. Sometimes he just needs a dummy put back in but other times I try everything, nappy change, burping, put an extra layer on or take 1 off. He has been teething too. I found that increasing his solids helped. But that has caused another problem - I am so paranoid about him waking at night that I have been forcing food into him during the day and now have a problem with him taking the bottle. I know it's my problem so yesterday I made myself take the bottle away after he refused it 3 times. He'd only taken 10ml but then at 4am this morning he was awake and hungry. I made him wait until 6.30 and he had half a bottle but then started refusing it again. I got so tense! Seems like doing the right thing makes it worse! He's also started napping for 1 hour every morning and up to 2 hours in the afternoon. too much ? I need advice pronto! Please help

My almost 7-week-old son seems to want to eat more at night than he does during the day. Right now, he eats 4 oz of formula every 3 hours or so, but constantly acts hungry. My ped says he's in a growth spurt and suggested 4 1/2 to 5 oz... he doesn't seem to want that much at every feeding, though. Is it normal for a baby to want different amounts at different times? He was also 6 weeks premature, if that factors in at all.

And before anyone hollers at me for not breastfeeding, I can't because of a medication I absolutely have to take.

He starts to nurse, then starts blowing raspberries and blows milk everywhere. It was kinda cute at first, but now I would just like him to nurse! LOL Has any other nursing mom dealt with this? What did you do?? Thanks!

He was three months yesterday and hes started chewing his hands and fingers. Is it alright to let him do it? I think he might be teething but I think he might be a bit small yet, he's not hungry and when I put the dummy in his mouth he just sucks it for a minute or two and spits it back out.

Is it ok for him to chew his fingers or should I stop him from doing it? He still cant pick things up so I cant give him a teething chewer thing yet.

Thanks!!

I am looking for answers from other parents who believe in letting their baby cry it out when they go to sleep. I have already decided to go this route. My baby is 9 months old. I'm also wondering what you do when you've let them cry it out for a certain amount of time. Do you pick them up? Then what? Thanks.I don't need to hear opinions from people who don't agree with this method. I realize some of you disagree with this, you don't need to tell me. I need help from people who understand where I'm coming from. Thank-you.

both my man & i work 40 hours a week, i make $12.00 an hour, my man makes $9.25, between the 2 of us i dont think that we make alot of money. we make it but we are NOT living lavishly. im 10 weeks preg and i have looked into Wic and help with paying for child care when i go back to work, apparently we make too much money to qualify for either aide. what is a hard working couple like us supposed to do? should we both quit our jobs and look for a shitty job that would allow us to qualify for gov aide? that is just stupid! but seriously what are we to do? it seems like the only people that can get any help are the ones that dont aspire to be anything, or to do anything more with their lives, that dont have good jobs, maybe thats why soo many people stay in low paying jobs so that they can get the help to feed their kids or to pay for child care. it seems like the gov gives too much help to ppl that abuse the system, and not enough to everyone else. any advise on what we could do for help?

He's been stuffed up for almost a week. I don't want to run to the doctor with everything, but I'm not sure if I should. he has not had a fever, and now he has a little cough too (it's so sad). If I have to restrain him to use the aspirator again, I might die. We are taking warm baths with the Johnsons cold vapor bath, and I am using an over the counter decongestiont they said I could use last time. Any ideas?

My daughter is 7 weeks old today, ever since she was 2 weeks old she would hold her head up and roll over and "play"" shes very active. Now she is trying to like sit on her own and grab things. I heard, I don't know if it is true but babies start getting teeth when they start you know sitting and grabbing, but I don't know.
Anyways I thought teeth come in from the front bottom, but I was looking at my daughter's mouth and in the very back left side there is a white molar looking thing, could that be a tooth?
