Newborn & Baby - September 2006

My daughter is now 9 months old, and has shown no sign of teething. Her pediatrician said at the latest she should have a tooth by 8 months. I just moved so I'm on the hunt for a pediatritian like I like and that my daughter likes. So I haven't been able to take her in just yet.
I have noticed that she has a rash on her chin. I thought that I remembered reading somewhere that that can sometimes be a sign due to the baby rubbing their mouth. But she's not showing any of the teething signs. I mean...biting down on stuff...she does that...but what baby doesn't? I am so confused. I know that all babies develop at different rates. But I'm concerned that she doesn't have any toofers yet. Can someone possibly give me a reason for this...

My five week old son has had severe constipation for a few days. I was going to let it fix itself, but yesterday his little hiny-hole was so backed up, he started throwing up and he has a fever too.
Well, I was watching the new show Jericho and I saw that scene where that man gave the girl a tracheotomy to clear up her air passage. This gave me an idea.
I want to give my son a tracheotomy at his "taint" to clear up his fecal passage. I need to know what size PVC pipe to use, and do I need to create some suction or will the blockage come out on its own? Don't worry about me hurting him. I still have some Vicodin from my 17 year old son's wisdom teeth removal.

My son is 3 mos old and he sleeps through the night but the rest of his day is a little choatic. My first problem is that I would like him to go to bed earlier. He goes down bewteen 10:30 and 11 each night and I have to wake him in the early morning to feed and get ready for the day. Last night I tried putting him down at 9:30 b/c he was so tired, but he ended up waking up at 4:30AM ready to eat. Also, I was wondering how many naps he should be taking and when? This is my first baby so I am learning as I go!

Just a poll. Nothing more. Doesn't matter if it was LLL, a lactation consultant in the hospital, a nurse or just a random breast terrorist out in the Wal-Mart attacking you about Jr. drinking a bottle.

I have a beautiful 2-week-old litte girl and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do with her during her "awake" moments. I talk to her and sing to her, but...to be honest...I feel like I'm talking to myself. Is she too young for me to be constantly trying to entertain her? Am I wasting my time? Any suggestions?

You can of course, zoom in on the picture. Don't you think these people are insane for using Nazi ANYTHING to promote something they supposedly want to spread upon other people? I've been on Earth too long. I am ready to be done with this foolishness called people.

My baby seems developmentally fine...has met all milestones so far, but is not babbling like the baby books say she should be. Obviously I will talk to my pedi about this next week, but I am a bit concerned. She raises her voice up and down by kinda baby yelling, laughs, smiles, etc., but really isn't putting anything together like "baaa" "daaa"... and especially Mama and Dada. I know she is too young to really know the meaning of Mama and Dada, but I have read she should at least be saying them involuntarily. She "seems" to hear okay, actually can hear a pin drop and wakes up, passed her newborn hearing tests, but what could be causing this? Signed, Worried Mommy!

I came here as a first time parent about this because I was getting mixed answers from everyone else. My son is a very healthy and happy baby thank you very much. I let him play with a baby wipe for god sakes. It's not like I gave him a knife to play with. My son has no teeth and therefore can't bite pieces off the wipe. It takes but 30 sec. to change his diaper. You people act like I let him do it all hour of the day. So I should be called a bad parent and have DHS called on me for giving my child a baby wipe for a second? WTF is wrong with you people? I'm sure all of you are just the perfect parents. Get fu*&^*& real. I looked on the box and nowhere on it does it say that it's not safe to eat. That's why I asked in the first place. It's alcohol free so no there is NO alcohol in them. The only thing it says not to do is let them play with the box.Thank you for all the people who just gave me advice without judging me. I'm sorry I didn't know the perfect way to be a parent.

My 8 month old son love baby wipes. I can't change him without giving him one or he cries. He tries to suck the stuff out of it and chews on it. My boyfriend is worried that it's not safe. I'm thinking why wouldn't it be. They are made for babies. What do you think?
