You can of course, zoom in on the picture. Don't you think these people are insane for using Nazi ANYTHING to promote something they supposedly want to spread upon other people? I've been on Earth too long. I am ready to be done with this foolishness called people.

I'd say it's pretty clear that a troll posted that pic to stir up trouble. It's also very clear that breastfeeding advocates aren't using nazi propaganda to promote breastfeeding.

Also consider it was the thirties and forties and most babies in Europe at that time were breastfed, so it's not like that's a surprising image.

That is an old poster. It has not been adopted or endorsed by ANY modern breastfeeding promotion group. What's your point? The existence of an antique poster that happens to contain a breastfeeding mother and a Nazi emblem in the same image proves nothing, any more than the existence of cans of formula contaminated with glass fragments somewhere out there at some point (also documented fact) proves ALL formula is evil/dangerous/poisoned.

Shame on you for distorting the facts like this. This is worse than the most militant breastfeeding promoter tactics I've ever seen, and I've seen some bad ones.

Is this new? It appears to be a propaganda poster from the 30's or early 40's. I'm not sure I understand your question, but there are groups in the world that still believe in the ideology the Nazi party represented.

However, if this poster is hanging on the wall of your OB/GYN's office, then I'd be a little freaked out too! lol

first of all, that poster isn't used to promote breastfeeding. if you read the post, the poster had seen the photo on a german website. and gestapo? no one is forcing anyone to breastfeed at gunpoint. however, women should not be forbidden to breastfeed in public either. the rest of the civilized world still understands that it is perfectly normal to breastfeed. there is nothing titillating or shameful about it. we have become such a prudish society.

and if you are so sick of earth and people, you are quite welcome to leave it!

There is nothing wrong with the poster. No, I do not believe these people are insane but do believe that those who do not have a severe physical or emotional problem and choose not to breastfeed are not only insane but incredibly selfish.

I see it as turning what was meant to be an insult - 'Milk Nazi', 'Breast Nazi', 'Boob Nazi' - into a positive promotion. Isn't that how a few of our patriotic songs got their start?
But, in my personal opinion - the word nazi should be used in this case- whether positive or negative.
