They are equal in the nutritional content. The difference is cost. Powder is less expensive and doesn't take up as much space. I would buy the liquid when we traveled only because of the diffrences in water at our home vs. where ever we were. I did not breast feed and my daughter, now 7, is unbeliveably healthy, smart and very normal. Hope this helps!
Sign up on formula web sites for free samples and such. I did it useing several friends addresses too and got TONS of stuff. Call me cheap, but when you were totally unprepared to become a parent and financially in a bind, the free samples saved my butt more than once.

I have used both the powdered formula and the concentrated formula. I used the concentrated formula when I had my son and then when I had my daughter I tried the powdered formula. They both used Enfamil with Iron. I preferred the powdered formula because it was real convenient to prepare a fresh bottle when we were travelling or out running errands. When you use the concentrated formula you have to keep it cool and then when it is time for the baby to eat you need to heat it up a little bit and sometimes that is hard to do, especially when you are travelling. The powdered formula was more convenient to use.

I use Similac, but my 2cents is to use neither the powder or the concentrated, but just the regular liquid. I guess it depends on the age of your baby, but I found that the powder gave my 3 month old son a LOT of gas. Even when he finished drinking from the bottle, there were a ton of bubbles left in the bottle. We ended up throwing out the rest of the powder after a few days of trying. The concentrated liquid (of any brand) makes them very constipated, apparently. That's what a baby nurse told me, so I never bothered with it.
PS: Just read the other posts...when I'm out and about I bring cans of the liquid ready made (8oz cans, they also make 4oz bottles.) That way I don't have to worry about refrigerating the formula. You serve it at room temp., so just pop the lid and pour. Very convenient.

The only difference is the convenience they provide. One is not better than the other. You do not have to keep an opened can of formula refrigerated. It is also easier to mix water with the liquid since the powder can clump, you just have to shake it really well. But for away from home, if you do not want to worry about keeping it cold, powder is more convenient. I take measured portions of water and powder in separate containers in the diaper bag and mix the bottle when I need it so I do not have to worry about keeping anything cold while we are out and I can easily pack extra if we are out longer than expected.

Its all a personal decision. I like concentrate because its easier to mix and takes less time. I do like powder because its easier on the go but not as convenient at home as concentrate.
Powder also makes my baby have more gas, I found this in common with alot of people.

powdered is less expensive, and I think easier. I used to just carry it with me all the time. If I ran out of ready made bottles, then I could just buy some bottled water at the store, and make one. Or I would order hot water at a restaurant, make the bottle, and let it sit there until it cooled down. Of course, this is when they were over three months old and you don't have to sterilize everything.

I just started my son on Natures Only Organic Soy Formula. He seems to really like and doesn't get all the gas like he does with the regular formula. It costs a little less for it also. For the regular non organic formula I would recommend Nestle Good Start. My son always seemed to have more regular bowel movements with this.

I think liquid formula is better than powder. Only because with powder, when you shake the bottle to mix, it leaves lots of bubbles and that can hurt baby's belly! With liquid, you pour, heat and feed. It's a little bit more expencive, but I think it's worth it. :)

I always used powder, because you get way more for your money, and when you go out in public, you do not have to worry about keeping a bottle chilled, etc. You can just put some spring water in bottles, and put the powder in the bag!

I used the powder Enfamil. It's convenient when you want to make just one bottle because the powder obviously doesn't have to be refrigerated after being opened. You can take it anywhere and not worry about it.
As far as which one is better healthwise, I would say both are the same, as long as they are prepared and used properly.
