I will be travelling to India with my baby for the first time.
I was wondering if anyone knows what brand of disposable diapers r available in Mumabi and how much they cost.

It would really help me if I know as I am planning to go for 3 months and will not have to carry a suitcase full of diapers , morover I am travelling with the baby alone !!!

Thanks .

First off, India's culture is pretty much dead set against diapers on babies, as you will soon find out when you arrive there. If it were me travelling with a baby or babies, I would be closely looking at packing 2-3 dozen regular flat sheet styled cotton diapers, a couple sets of diaper pins, and a half dozen pairs of rubber pants. Better safe than sorry.

By the way, have a great trip and be safe.

How old is the baby? You may want to carry a couple of dozen cloth diapers and some rubber pants. I just came back from Mexico and was traveling with 2 two year old children. In some of the places we visited, we could not find diapers and ended up potty training one of the children while we were gone to have enough diapers for the other. He is 10 months older than his sister so it wasn't that hard. It only took a week and he is fully potty trained now.

As far as food goes, you may end up having to make your own baby food for the tike. Take a very small food processor with you and that way you will know the quality of the food you are feeding your baby.

In India they still practice Elimination Communication in many parts. Check out this link -

we have used EC with our daughter since birth and at 10 months she is completely potty trained. Depending on your child's age, you could always learn how to do it from the experts over in India! If your child is older than 6 months then it's probably too late, but diapers are available there so it shouldn't be a problem. I would certainly bring some cloth along just in case though.

Best wishes!

Your best bet is to pack some cloth diapers and plasic covers just incase, and a food strainer to mash cooked veggies.

Then you have them to rely on incase your locality or money situaion is different from what you expected.
