are you pointing his peepee downward? You know you have to do that right? Otherwise they get pee EVERYWHERE and leaks all over the place.
Also, you might not have the right fitting diaper for him. There shouldnt be any gaps around the legs, if so then the diaper isnt snug enough around his waist, or put on high enough (new born diapers have to be folded down around the cord, otherwise they would completely cover that area) If your baby is very small you might need to invest in premie diapers for him.
:)
he shouldnt be leaking through his diaper, but it still should be changed every 2 hours at this stage in his life. Once a diaper is wet it needs to be changed. Those new diapers are extra absorbant and its hard to tell when a baby has wet, but two hours is usually the bladder limit on a newborn. Otherwise you end up with rashes, and thats a whole nother issue to deal with.

Try using the smallest diaper size available and adjusting it as snuggly as possible without cutting off his circulation. There are also little plastic underwear available at stores like Babies-R-Us and Wal-Mart that people use when trying to potty train a baby. You can place one of these over his diaper, this should help stop the wetness from seeping through and wetting his clothes and bedding. Otherwise, there really isn't much you can do, unless he has a urinary tract problem, in which case you should consult your pediatrician. Babies are babies and they will soil, whether its wetting his diaper or spitting up. I have three children and have dealt with that sort of problem with all three. Good luck!!!

If your son is only 2 weeks old, he should be in size 1 or newborn diapers. If there are spaces around his legs the diaper is too big.
Also be sure his willy isnt pointed up or to the sides, but straight down when diapering him. That can cause major leakage.

This sounds normal - the going every 2 hours - I let my son have nappy off time every day and @ that age he would quite often wee 2 or 3 times an hour!! Try a different nappy/diaper size. I find pampers the best (and boy have I tried them all - we had a similar prob but with no. 2's)

First, you said boy. Are you making sure you don't have his penis pointing in the direction of the leg hole? You should tuck it down towards the back of the diaper. Also, if the leg holes are the big, then you probably need to go down one size.
Diaper covers (used for cloth diapers) can help. They're sweaty but if you have to go out for a little while, they can be a life saver...especially when the little ones get diarrhea!

Something to remember, "whatever goes in must come out" so since he is drinking formula and water he will pee alot. The size of his legs has nothing to do with it.
Is he a tiny baby? Then maybe you need premie diapers. Maybe you aren't putting the diaper on right.
Be thankful that he is peeing if he wasn't you would have a serious problem on your hands.

use newborn or premie diapers, there should be no gaps between the legs. newborns usually go a lot (no matter if they have taken a bottle or have been breast fed) you may actually have to go with the cheap diaper (doesn't hold much but may fit) if he gets a diaper rash (little red bumps that make it very uncomfortable for baby) use "Budreaux's Butt paste" it works wonders, you can find it at any Wal Mart by the medicines.

Have you tried using Pampers Swaddlers in the preemie size they might fit better you didn't say how much he weighed but my twins wore that size till the were about 9 or 10 pounds. Also make sure his little stuff is pointed down or he will wet everywhere!

It sounds like you need to put a smaller diaper on him if he has gaps around the legs for his pee to leak out. You might also try to put a pair of plastic waterproof pants over his diaper to help contain his pee.
Good luck and congratulations on the new baby.

I found that the pampers swaddlers worked best for me. My son had really skinny legs too. Also everytime you change him put his penis downward before closing up the diaper. This will help him from peeing out. Little boys pee everywhere!
