I can't give you the reason for this but I can tell you that my friends baby didn't get her 1st tooth until after she turned a year. Then all the teeth started to follow.
I also know that the later they come in the better!!!! So, don't worry about it............they will be coming in soon!

This is REALLY nothing to worry about. My son and daughter were both 11 months before they got their first tooth! Just think of it this way, the later they come in, the later they will come out. And yes, if I were you, I would definitely find another pediatrician. I'm not a doctor but he's wrong, lol!
As for the rash on her chin, does she take a pacifier? Sometimes saliva can get trapped between the skin arond the mouth and the pacifier. It can cause a rash and chaffing. It can also happen while nursing. I experienced this with my babies. Try rubbing some vasoline on her chin about 3 times a day. They also make a little stick (looks like chapstick) for this too. Best of luck to you and your little one, and please, find another doc ASAP!

Some babies don't pop any teeth through until their a year old, or even later. but it sounds to me like yours is about to get some, probably one right after the other in a row (all at once). The rash on her chin is probably due to excessive drooling, that means teething.
Signs of beginning teething:
1.Excessive drooling
2.Crankiness
3.low-grade fever(around 99)
4.stomach ache or upset
5.chewing on anything and everything
6.rash on face, chin, belly, bottom( or anywhere the "drool" touches)
7.either not sleeping or sleeping a lot
8.chewing on their fingers or yours
This can last a while before the 1st tooth ever pops through.
Buy her some teething biscuits or a teething ring.I know I will catch flack for this, but I rub a LITTLE brandy or rum on their gums. This slightly numbs the pain and helps relax them. Or you can use PURE vanilla extract, it contains a LITTLE alcohol and softens/thins,does not toughen their gums.My ten month old is teething now, and I use these on her, as well as my other children when they were teething.
Relax, everything will be fine, its only natural and every child develpos at their own pace.

dont get caught up in "she should be doing this.... because everyone says so"
my daughter never got teeth until 9 months. crawlled at 8 months, and BANG walked at 11 months. each child is different. some kida have teeth come later and get 4 at a time. my dayghter has been teething for 2 1/2 months on her top teeth. took 3 weeks for the first to show, 4 weeks on the second and were waiting any day for the 3rd top tooth to come in. I wish this on noone.
your teeth will come, i'd be more concerened at 18 months if no teeth came out

Babies should have teeth by 18 months otherwise it may mean that their gums are too thick for the teeth to break through. At 9 months i wouldnt worry much. Just give it time. There is no need to rush her to a pediatrician for this purpose. Take your time and find one you and your daughter are comfortable with then bring this up with the doctor. She will be fine.
Best of luck and dont stress! :)

lol You sound just like me! My baby will be 10 months this Saturday and she only got teeth 2 weeks ago. I noticed on September 9th that the 2 top teeth were coming through then last weekend I noticed one of the bottem front ones is coming through.
I was really starting to worry but I had heard from other people that it's not a HUGE concern until they're 2 years old and if they don't have teeth by then they will have to have surgery on the gums to let the teeth through.
Hope that puts you at ease. :)

I really wouldn't worry about whether or not she has teeth yet, as it really varies from child to child.
Some babies I know got their first teeth at three months, while others I know got their first teeth at twelve months. Also, some babies exhibit several teething signs (teething rash, chewing/gnawing, fitful nights, drooling etc) while others exhibit few or no signs at all.
My son exhibited signs of teething with his first two teeth, but no subsequent signs at all.
The first bottom tooth usually comes in anywhere from six months to ten months, so your daughter still has several months before her teeth are considered "late" coming in. Still, like I said before, even though 6-10 months is the average age teeth make their first appearance they may arrive sooner or later than average, and that's okay too.
No cause for worry, momma.

Don't worry about it. My niece didn't get her first tooth until she was a year old. She didn't lose her first baby tooth until she was 10. She's 18 now and has never had a cavity. My sister said the dentist told her that infants who get their teeth late usually have stronger teeth. When your daughter does start teething, watch for high fevers because it can cause enamel damage on her permanent teeth. This happened to my nephew, who is the son of another sister.

I have a son and daughter. My son developed teeth much later than my daughter. The rash under the chin could be from drooling heat etc. You sound like a good concerned mom. You just need to relax.
