The first time he blew raspberries I am sure he got a startling reaction from you. You laughed and thought it was cute as any mom would. He got a positive reaction from you and he likes and wants to please you at this age. Next time you nurse start on the opposite breast from the normal, have plenty of towels ready to absorb the milk if it is blown and show no reaction when he blows. No facial expressions do not laugh keep your breathing to a normal, ignore the raspberries and he will stop on his own.

when he starts blowing tell him no, firmly, and if he does it again take him off the breast and put him down, and don't let him nurse for 10-15 minutes. He will get the message that blowing milk means no nursing. I did this when my son bit, and he stopped really quick!! We nursed until he was 23 months.

sorry but I have to laugh. I can totally see this happening. (now watch I will be doomed) But mabey what you can try is to stop nursing when he does this. Wait a minute and then start again. If he learns that you will stop feeding him when he does this then he might stop. But other than that. Good luck, and remember at least he has a good personality.

I have to appreciate the humor in this. Unfortunately, my wife and I don't know what to do, because ours is only 4 months old. But, I would love to read the comments from experienced moms.

OMG - I'm laughing so hard. Sorry, didn't mean to but you brought back some memories. My son did that for a few months. Sorry I can't recommend a way to break the habit, he just outgrew it after a while.
