You know those little 4oz bottles that they give you in the hospital when your baby is born -- well, my son would down that bottle, without stopping (he would NOT let go of the nipple to burp). He would go thru 4 oz's every 4 hrs or so. He also was on rice cereal at 2 or 3 months old, just could not fill him up. He grew up with a hugh appetite and was never overweight. So, stick with your instincts, sounds like you are doing just fine.

my baby is 2 and 1/2 months and breast feed but eats 4 oz if I pump and 5 oz at night for his feeding with cereal and sleeps 6 to 7 hours too. And he's 8pounds 8 oz. Ya not over feeding ya baby. ALL babys eat about that amount at this age. Alot of people say not to give them cereal at night but don't worry about them. In the long run its what you as a mother feel is best. I hate when people tell me not to do something.

The formula amounts sound just about right. I wouldnt have him on cereal yet though. I know some Drs suggest cereal when the baby is eating ALOT but that does not sound like its too much.

How big is your baby? As long as your baby is height and weight proportioned, it's fine.

Not all babies will eat the same amount of food.

My son was a big eater, at the age of 2 months he was the size of an average 4 month old, therefore he required more food than the average 2 month old.

A 2 month old should not be getting cereal yet. Feeding him cereal this early increases his chances of allergies, diabetes and obesity. He can't really digest it until around 6 months of age.

Sounds like your both doing a great job.You are not over feeding.Babies at this age eat every 3-4 hours.Sounds like he is a great eater.Your also lucky that he sleeps that long.He is getiing satisfied & full enough. There is nothing bad or wrong about it.

Ask your pediatrician. I'd skip the cereal with the formula. He's too young for that. He should be sleeping longer too.

I would talk to your ped. Babies aren't suppose to start on cereal for quite a while. Their little tummies cannot digest it properly, and it can actually cause problems for the future.

I was always told that a babys digestive system couldn't cope with solids (ie anything other than straight milk) until at the very least 16 wks so it worries me that your giving him cereal already. Please check that one out.
