Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 December 2007

She is still fitting into 3-6 mos clothes and doesn't look "big"- though she has very meaty thighs and chubby cheeks. :) I hate to compare or freak out, but my friend has a 6mos old who is in size 2 still! Is this weird, or is my baby ok? I just want real mom reassurance...I know I need to follow dr's orders and we have a well visit in 2 wks. thanks! :)

they say there not going to smoke right in his face but im still worried and the smoke alot will the baby be able to defend itself...i dont want the baby to die from sids..they have cats and they smoke this like is almost sure somethings wrong with the baby..please what can i do to help...them

He usually asks for breakfast but has only asked for water. his spirits are good and is talking but not very active. What should i feed him and what juice is good? I usually dilute his juice with water 50/50. thanks

I am expecting twins for march but my doctor says they can come anytime at this point. i have nevaeh as one name, but i can figure out another name for a girl that kinda goes with this one. i have looked on the web for twin girls names and i have about ten books with names in. i just need someone elses input. if you have suggestions feel free to let me know. i also know a name is suppose to be for an individual. i had issues trying to figure out a name for my first four children when they were born well now i have double the trouble finding names. again any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am currently 2cm diolated. It is December 21st and im due January 4th. Last Dr's visit I was told that I am 65% efaced and the baby has dropped. Im getting overly frustrated and want him out. Anyone have any suggestions on when he might be here?

How did your baby get around? WHen did he/she learn to walk? My son is a bum scootcher and I am just curious if he will eventually just go straight to walking and skip crawling. He is 9 months old and walks along furniture. I know every baby is different but I am just curious.

He won't answer my calls or his sister dosn't want me to talk to him anymore I don't know she was so excited that her brother was finnaly going to have a baby.But I think It's just my baby's daddy. She is 6 1/2 months old and has a runny nose and a little bit of a cough. She doesnt have a fever though, so I wasn't sure if I needed to take her to the doctor. Is there something I can give her? She is eating fine and doesnt really act like she feels bad. It is just hard for her to nurse, though, because she has to breathe through her mouth. Thanks in advance.

Read this before you answer its pronounced [eh-See-ah] the strongest part of the name is the 'si' in the middle not & I repeat not the 'e' at the beginning...its not 'trashy' names like Candibell & ferrari are.

She's only ten months and her two bottom front teeth came in first - as is usual it seems - but then she got first one and then another canine tooth and now she looks like a cute little vampire!

My mum says my sister was the same and had to have her filed down (back in the early 70s) but is it still considered a problem? My friend said they might have to pull them, but surely that's wrong?!

My doctor seemed kinda discouraged. He tried to see if he could help my cervix open but he couldn't. He basically told me that the baby would be late. Has anyone just gone into labor without being dilated? Did you water just break? How close to your due date? If anyone could give me some info that would calm me down I'd appreciate it. Any nurses who could shed light on why I'm not dilating at 39 weeks?

Similar to my last question, I know, but not exactly :-)

So, assuming your parents did a fine job with you or, good enough, anyway - do you parent the same way that they did? If not, why?

And, did they parent the same way as their parents? If not, why?

I'm thinking that part of the evolution of parenting comes when two parents from different backgrounds & parenting styles come together to start a new family and have to, then, come to an agreement on how to do things as they parent. But, I would think that parenting styles would be discussed pre-marriage and, for some, even be a non-negotiable deal-breaker in deciding to marry. That like would gravitate toward like.
