I'm babysitting a kid tomorrow night (not the same one who is so monstrous, this kid is really well behaved). He's 7 and is a really good kid, he does what I tell him but he craves attention. Even if he is enthralled with something, if I leave the room (even for a few seconds) he bursts into tears and screams. When I walk back into the room he'll keep going, and he won't stop until I pick him up and tell him it's okay, I'm still right here. I can't even take a minute to go to the bathroom, he'll start wailing and crying. When I put him to bed (his bedtime is 7 ish and I'll be sitting until 10 PM), he will start crying out of nowhere. He will go to sleep and I will wait until he starts snoring (he's LOUD!) and carry him into his room and be sure he's asleep before I leave the room (if I have to take care of some chores or homework or something). But within about 10 minutes after I leave, he will WAIL. I have to go into his room and pick him up and hold him for a long time (continued)

My husband and I are expecting our first child within days. Our families live 8 hours away. We invited our parents to come and stay at our house while we are in the hospital so they can meet the new baby. My inlaws have a German Shepherd, and I politely told them I preferred that they don't bring him this time because of the new baby (I have allergies and am worried about the baby being allergic, and he sheds, I want the house clean, etc. etc.) MIL said she couldn't come then b/c they can't put dog in a kennel because of one bad experience with a past dog, and she doesn't trust my 35yo brother in law to watch the dog. So, basically we left it at that- either I let the dog come, or they CAN'T come. Then my FIL suggested that I find them a hotel that allows pets, so I found several and that was the plan. Well now MIL told DH that she's afraid there is no place to let the dog out at hotel! She asked if she could sleep in garage with dog. I feel trapped by guilt. What should I do

My father raised 4 kids as a single dad and his youngest daughter is out of control. He has heart problems and because of the stress she causes him, he keeps going in & out of the hospital. She has told him "I hate you, I want you to die" My dad has asked me for help, but I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you

My sister's name is Aisha, and I was thinking bout using tat, but then my brother said that I was hating on him by not naming my son after him. How bout naming my baby girl Zirkonia Platinum. I really like preshous metals and jems, so i thought this would be a classy name for my baby. I already have a son names Tyzeke Faux. I thought it sounded sooo classy and french, and my sis Aisha really liked it. What do you all think bout these names? My baby's father thinks they are unique.

I am sickened by the porn rings and peadophiles and parents abusing and killing innocent children. As women and mothers we need to turn down the troll volume..I find people think it's funny to be smutty and ask sick questions...some women act like trolls and feed the disease...think next time you trolls make sick remarks to encourage perverts..they may be in their homes molesting an innocent child...

Wondering if anyone has any placenta previa success stories. I just went for my 20-week Ultrasound (i'm actually 19 weeks and 5 days) and was informed that my first baby is healthy but that I have placenta previa. Not sure if it is complete or marginal - wasn't told. I'm terrified, however. I don't want to lose this baby as I've heard horror stories of hemmorhaging and fetal death. Anyone out ther who can set my mind at ease?Thank you.

My 13-year-old son has eczema on his legs and arms. He has all the lotion he needs to clear it up, but seldom bothers to apply them. When I volunteer or insist to put lotion on his legs and arms, suggest that he does so, or tell him I am going to rub it on him after his bath/shower it invariably turns into a battle or argument. His legs and arms are in such a bad state and I really do want to help. What do you advise?

My 4 month old baby boy sleeps for 30 minutes at a time during the day and for only 2 hours at a time at night. I am at my wits end. He is b/f and we have just started him on solids. He won't go to sleep on his own. He needs to be held till he has nodded off and if we put him down too early, he wakes again. We have tried everything - self soothing, letting him cry for a while etc. Nothing works. Any advice would be a huge help.

Do you think it's a bad idea?
Of course, he would be properly bundled up, i.e. scarf, hat, gloves, turtleneck, winter coat.
He will also have a blanket wrapped around him, if necessary.
The forecast says it's supposed to be sunny and around 40-45 degrees.
The game is at 2:30 in the afternoon and should last about 2 hours.
Do you think this age is too young?

My 4 month old baby used to take 30 minutes or so to eat. Lately, he doesn't seem as interested in nursing, and will only spend 15 or 20 minutes nursing. I'm worried he will not get as much to eat. Is this normal?

why not pursue further studies and become richer? Why not tour the world? Why not buy a bigger apartment? what guarantee is there that your child would not grow up to become a self-centered adult (which most of us are anyway)?
What have WE done to our parents anyway? HONEST REPLY please.. We all grow up to become selfish anyway... Right? Why then do some parents (esp. mothers) entertain this Utopian and visionary dream that their newborn/unborn bany would grow up to be another sacrificial saint? They are setting themselves up for disappointment. Why not work hard and play hard?

To those of us who have children in our lives,
whether they are our own,
grandchildren,
nieces,
nephews,
or students...
here is something to make you chuckle.

Whenever your children are out of control,
you can take comfort from the thought that
even God's omnipotence did not extend
to His own children.

After creating heaven and earth,
God created Adam and Eve.

And the first thing he said was

"DON'T! "

"Don't what? "Adam replied.

"Don't eat the forbidden fruit."God said.

"Forbidden fruit?
We have forbidden fruit?

Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit! "

"No Way!

"Yes way!

"Do NOT eat the fruit! "said God.

"Why? "

"Because I am your Father and I said so! " God replied,
wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants.

A few minutes later,
God saw His children having an apple break and He was ticked!

"Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit ? "God asked.

"Uh huh,"Adam replied.

"Then why did you? " said the Father.

"I don't know," said Eve.

"She started it! "Adam said.
"Did not! "

"Did too! "
"DID NOT!"

Having had it with the two of them,
God's punishment was that Adam and Eve
should have children of their own.

Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY!

If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it,

don't be hard on yourself.
If God had trouble raising children,
what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT !

1. You spend the first two years of their life

teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.

2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.

3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.

4. Children seldom misquote you.
In fact,
they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.
5. The main purpose of holding children's parties

is to remind yourself that there are children
more awful than your own.

6. We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

ADVICE FOR THE DAY:

Be nice to your kids.
They will choose your nursing home one day.

AND FINALLY:

IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF TENSION
AND YOU GET A HEADACHE,
DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:

"TAKE TWO ASPIRIN"
AND "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"!!!!!
