My sister's name is Aisha, and I was thinking bout using tat, but then my brother said that I was hating on him by not naming my son after him. How bout naming my baby girl Zirkonia Platinum. I really like preshous metals and jems, so i thought this would be a classy name for my baby. I already have a son names Tyzeke Faux. I thought it sounded sooo classy and french, and my sis Aisha really liked it. What do you all think bout these names? My baby's father thinks they are unique.

Where to begin? None of these names are anything that I'd entertain but if celebs like Frank Zappa can name his daughter Moon Unit and his son Dweezil, Toni Braxton can name her child Denim, Keith Richards can name his daughter Dandelion, Justin Hayward can name his daughter Do Ray Me, Jaime Oliver can name his daughters Daisy Boo, and Poppy Honey, Gwyneth Platrow can name her daughter Apple, then I guess anything goes.

I won't address your son's name because I don't think its fair. What's done is done and you've been beaten up pretty bad over it already. I will say, because I think it bears repeating, if you want to use French words in your names, it would be helpful if you looked up the meaning of the words you like.

As far as people saying that your child may end up scarred for life and could possibly become a runaway over this name I respond with PISH TOSH. I don't think there have been any reported cases of a child running away because of their name. LOL. While it may be true that she might not like it, she may resort to having people call her a shortened version like "zirk" or some other nickname. I think that is more likely than her running away!

Now to address the point that many have made about children teasing your child over her name or constantly asking her to spell it for them etc., I'm not so sure that is a valid point. Based on your son's name and the fact that you are entertaining another "controversial" name, I am assuming that your son isn't being teased currently? I mean I guess if he was or if people were constantly asking you/him to spell his name or were making negative comments, you wouldn't even be entertaining Zirkonia. I think what we have here is a cultural/community issue.

Perhaps names like your children's are common in your culture/community. I mean look at the names above that are found in the celebrity culture/community. If you are comfortable with the name Zirkonia,Saphire, Glitter, Diamonique, or whatever, then you should go for it. Only you know what is best for your child. (Anything is better than Dweezil or Moon Unit. Right??)

Oh my goodness, that name is so NOT classy I can't even begin to express it.

Zirkonia Platinum is a stripper name. Period. If you name your daughter that, she will end up in adult entertainment.

Tyzeke Faux is AWFUL as well. Faux means "false" or "fake" in French. Why would you do that to your kid? Why?

EDIT: Sapphire Sparkle?! Still a stripper name in every way. How about you pick something that doesn't sound like a piece of jewelry.

FURTHER EDIT: Jade Trinity is a *small* step in the right direction. As far as gem names go, Jade isn't horrendous. I really don't like Trinity though. It's too popular and when combined with Jade it forms just another trendy name with nothing to it.

I'm sorry, there's good unique, and there's bad unique, and then there's ugly unique. Tyzeke is bad, Faux means 'fake', and mispelling Zirconia is ugly.

If you really love 'preshous jem' (I take it you mean precious gem?) names, at least spell them correctly. And, preferably use them as a middle name. Zirkonia/Zirconia is a FAKE diamond. It might match Faux with the fake theme, but it's really uneducated sounding. If you use a first name that means something related to a precious metal or gem, it's much more clever, classy, and cool sounding than names like Gold, Emerald, etc. Names that just ARE 'preshous jems' sound like stripper names.

Some more classy ideas:

Gemma Platinum -Gemma is another word for "gem"
Cressida Silver -Cressida is Greek for 'gold'
Ariane Esmerelda -Ariane is Latin for 'silver'
Zlata Jewel -Zlata is Slavic for 'gold'
Ruby Hope

I'm sorry if this upsets you, but chances are, this is what people are saying behind your back!

Audrey Katherine - undying, classy, chic and state-of-the-paintings. you won't be able to flow incorrect with the two call Cecily Victoire - Neither call is a private familiar yet i stumble on them paired collectively very proper. Cecily is a clean decision, unusual yet no longer bizarre Serafina Eve - advantageous yet i might want this in opposite. there is something so heat and candy approximately Eve, it fairly is the variety of beautiful call without being overbearing Luna Calliope - a advantageous call yet i may well be reluctant to apply it on a actual guy or woman. Luna is possibly to be get multiple loony and lunatic teasing Ivy Arabella - Stunningly beautiful. Ivy's candy and playful sound complements the prosperous, regal sound of Arabella completely Audrey Hazel - yet another undying elegance. This has extra spunky and character than Audrey Katherine nonetheless Willa Estelle - i'm prepared on the quirky, girly sense of this one. Willa Estelle flows fantastically and is a refreshingly unusual and exciting pairing. Willa is gorgeous, it feels classic yet has a favorite sense. Clara Anneliese - Love the two names, they sound beautiful collectively. Anneliese Clara may well be advantageous too Isla Penelope - beautiful Avery Linnet - it would be a actual shame if the toddler finally ends up with a gender-ambigious surname once you have such gorgeous names on your record. Avery is okay yet favorite and slightly trashy, and Linnet feels dated. out of your different names i admire those: Magdalena Esther - gorgeous! Clio - Makes a mind-blowing midsection call Francesca Anna Edith Ava- this may well be a plenty classier option to Avery Emmeline - very advantageous! Adelaide -Adelaine and Adeline are advantageous too Elodie Genevieve - you additionally can like Guinevere Maeve - Maeva is advantageous too Esme Cora Violet - certainly one of my favourites Isis - Very vivid and beautiful. Iris is advantageous too Elisabeth another pairings: Violet Esme Anna Maeve Clara Genevieve Elisabeth Luna Esther Adelaide Eve Magdalena Ava Francesca Edith Cora Anneliese Clio Emmeline Isla Isis Elodie

I do think it is interesting. Common names are not always a good idea. So I like the unique and originality of the name. I do like it.

I really don't like it, but that's just my opinion. A word of advice: think about if your child is going to be one of the kids who runs away and changes their identity at 18 because they hated their name. But you know what, people are going to hate it and misspell it and mispronounce it and misunderstand it's meaning, but who cares? If you and everyone you are close with likes it, then keep it. I'm sure your child will grow to be a "Zirkonia" and a lovely young lady (if by God's grace she doesn't turn into a runaway teen).

Personally not a fan, but you are the only ones that have to like it. I just think about long term and your daughter having to explain her name to the idiots that will ask her for the remainder of her life. That can be annoying.
