My bf and I have been quite intimate lately, but technically, I'm still a virgin, we're not in a hurry to go all the way, so I haven't gone on the pill yet. Couple of days ago, things kinda got out of hand and he ejaculated onto my stomach. I went to take a shower right after, and while I was in the shower, he yelled something like "Just be careful not to let it (the sperm) go down there". That freaked me out. Could I actually get pregnant from sperm coming into contact with my privates while showering? We're quite young and stupid the two of us (19), this is new, and with all the hype about teen pregnancy, I can't help but be a bit paranoid. Here are the facts:

- penetration has NOT happened, only oral sex
- the sperm was above my navel, and I washed it off with soap, though some of it might have gone down with the water
- I am not on the pill
- it was 7 days after my last period ended

I'm going to take a test just in case, but I'd appreciate an experienced point of view...

I am nearly 17 weeks pregnant and today my mind is wondering about my chances of having gestational diabetes. My mom had it with me and my brother and she as able to control it with her diet. She is one of the healthiest people I know and and she still got it. I was 2 weeks early and 8 lbs 6 oz. Who knows how big i'd be it I went to term! For that reason my doc is going to test me at 24 weeks.

I want to know if you know anyone or had a personal experience with GD and how big the baby was and how early or late they were. Also, if they were earlier that 37 weeks were they still healthy? I would also like to know if you had to be induced and if it was a vaginal birth.

Thanks.

I'm just curious, so I thought I would take a poll - please list at what age you started your baby on rice cereal and why you waited or what made you start at this point (developmentally, etc.). Thanks!

Im utterly convinced im pregnant despite 4 negative HPTs and a doctors negative urine test. Its driving me insane and despite all these tests I link anything I can think of to being pregnant.

would it be wrong for me to ask the doctor to refer me for a scan as its the only way Ill believe anything? If I was pregnant I would be 16-18 weeks by now.

I am 4 weeks pregnant...I found out at 3 weeks...and I'm not having any kind of cramping, but I have a dull allmost tired feeling in my abs. It's not all of the time...has anyone else ever had this??? I have had a miscarriage once this year, but with that I had period type cramps. I don't know if this feeling is my abs telling me to not hold them in...I don't know, what do you think???

I was looking on myspace at people I want to school with. Most of them are my age (23) or 24 and have 2 or 3 kids already. I feel like I'm falling behind cuz I don't have any kids yet. Hopefully that will change in the next 2 years cuz I'm engaged to be married in 1 year. How old are you and how many kids do you have?

My daughter is 2 years old and climbs EVERYTHING. The baby gates I bought are quickly becoming useless. I am at my wits end and have no idea what to do next.

I have just received my 12 week scan today and found I am 12 weeks + 4 days, we are both so happy all is well. Later today I was looking at my notes and noticed the following:

Gestation Sac (YES), Mean Sac Diameter (REGULAR), Fetal Pole (YES), Fetal Heart Beat (Yes), Yolk Sac (Yes) - these were taken at an unexpected 7 week scan.

Today the following additional notes were added:
Ovaries (Rt), Adnexal mass (No), Free FLuid P of D (No). Single live fetus, reboook 20 weeks.

I am questioning the note regarding Ovaries (Rt), does this mean my ovaries, or has the sonographer identified a Right ovary in my unborn baby?

Thank you for any answers received.

Our 2.3 y/o daughter is not a great eater (pretty much eats the same chicken, yogurt, p/b sandwich, and anything crunch 'chip' ... we limit to vegchips, air popcorn, vegcorn). But, her #1 choice is milk all of the time day/night. We're offering/giving her water, (mineral) bubble water as alternative...sometimes we'll add sugarfree cyrlstal light. But...she always prefers milk over anything to eat or drink. This morning she had a total meltdown because we woul would not giver her a second cup of milk...she had not touched any of her breakfast. Same thing over dinner last night.... We're ready to go 'hard core' w/ her...but, would welcome any/all suggestions....

Tx-in-advance!

I was just diagnosed with GD. I'm really freaked out. I keep reading that women with GD are more likely to get Type II diabetes. So, here are my questions:

1. Since I have GD, does having it make me more succeptable to Type II now? If yes, Why?

2. Can GD "roll over" into Type II? or am I just more succeptable? (someone posted that it can immediately turn into Type II which scares the hell out of me, so I want to know if that is true)

Thanks. I will be taking a class soon, but I want to know now.

I know parents who do this but I'm wondering if this is against the law. The New York State Compulsory School Attendance Law states that a child who is 6 by a certain deadline MUST enter first grade. I am assuming that there are exceptions. I don’t understand why. If the child is having difficulty, they will qualify for special education. It's not like the child will be in special education forever. They can be declassified. They can still go to the best college.

I meant is it legal to take a child out of first grade and just have the child be placed in kindergarten. The parents is taking the child out of first grade and NOT homeschooling them. Instead they are placing them in kindergarten in the school district.

Before I discovered Adolescent, I used to spend a fair bit of time in other sections. In those sections, they just asked and answered questions, but here we seem to have this little community.

Like the fact that we've made "celebrities", ie Nikki Sep, Wabby, Baking Master, etc. And everyone talks about them and has opinions about them.

It's cool but weird at the same time, I mean, no one even knows each other in real life, yet we've built a little society where we all think we know each other. And we're all hidden away under a section that everyone thinks is about pregnancy and parenting - because that's what it's called!

What do you think? Weird, inevitable, interesting, revealing...?

What is CM (Cervical mucous) supposed to be like in early pregnancy?
I got my period on Dec 11th like expected and it was very light but enough to need a tampon and it ended on the 12th. (Since I got off BC in Aug my periods have been very short..2-3 days medium flow) Then on Friday afternoon I started to spot a little and that stopped Saturday afternoon. Since then I have been having alot of watery CM..it's enough that I have to wear a pantyliner because it seeps through my underwear. It's clearish/creamy in color and it is very runny. I had my regular pap done the day before my period so I know I do not have an infection and the urine test was negative but it was with afternoon urine and I had just drank a bottle of water.. I am pretty sure that I am not pregnant because of the light period I had last week but I have never had this much CM before...so, all that being said I'm curious.... what is CM supposed to be like in early pregnancy?...Thanks ladies!

Just a random question...
We just found out I'm pregnant... and we're thrilled. I'm a teacher and a nanny - so I'm around kids plenty. My husband and I have the realistic idea that we will be the best parents we can be, but we know you can't hide your children from everything in this downward sprialing world (I say that based on the drugs, crime rate, violence, drop out rate, STDs, etc) - we will do the best we can and hope our child, with guidance, makes the best choices possible. However, that doesn't keep us from being nervous about everything to come as our child becomes "exposed" as he/she becomes older...
The question... is anyone else nervous about raising a child in todays society?

Can anybody explain how they feel? This is my first child and I've been feeling a lot of pain on the lower part of my belly but have no idea how they are suppose to feel. I don't know if it's just my muscles expanding or if it could be labor pains. I'm due on the 30th of Jan. Can you please explain how the contractions feel?
