Im utterly convinced im pregnant despite 4 negative HPTs and a doctors negative urine test. Its driving me insane and despite all these tests I link anything I can think of to being pregnant.
would it be wrong for me to ask the doctor to refer me for a scan as its the only way Ill believe anything? If I was pregnant I would be 16-18 weeks by now.

I'm sorry, but at 16-18 weeks along you should be getting positive tests. You would also notice your body changing, your belly starting to show, and you might even start to feel tiny flutters as the baby would be moving.
I doubt they'll send you in for a scan, but ask them to give you a blood test to determine if you are pregnant or not.

My 4th pregnancy was a surprise, I conceived when I had been taking birth control pills for 11 years. By the time I found out, I was 17 weeks along. My doctor discovered it when she did my yearly pelvic exam and commented on how my cervix felt as if I was 12 weeks pregnant. She sent me to pee in a cup for a pregnancy test and it came back positive. Neither of us was totally convinced I could be pregnant after that many years faithfully taking the Pill, so she brought in the Doppler and we could hear the baby's heart beat. That was the point where she sent me for an ultrasound since we had no way of knowing for sure how far along I could be. At each step, my doctor said that other medical conditions can mimic pregnancy. The only odd symptoms I was experiencing were having pain in my stomach whenever I ate and having a lot of heart burn. I had no "typical" pregnancy symptoms throughout the entire pregnancy. I think a return to your doctor or another doctor for a second opinion would be a good place to start to figure out what may be wrong. Many pregnancy symptoms can show up in other medical conditions.

If you were 16-18 weeks it would show up on a pregnancy test.
No doctor will send you for a scan with negative tests.

There's no way you're preg, u need 2 get over it & stop letting u r mind run wild. You don't need 2 try getting preg at this time either, right now u r too unstable, u have no control over u r thoughts. Stop trying 2 link every lil thing 2 being a sign of pregnancy & just go on w/ u r life like u used to - except use a condom!

Why don't you suggest a blood test? That is the most accurate and would definitely tell you if you are or if you are just psyching yourself to be. Or at least go over all of your symptoms with your Dr. and maybe there is something that he could recommend.

theres no way your preggers you would be showing by now and the tests would def. come back positive
