My bf and I have been quite intimate lately, but technically, I'm still a virgin, we're not in a hurry to go all the way, so I haven't gone on the pill yet. Couple of days ago, things kinda got out of hand and he ejaculated onto my stomach. I went to take a shower right after, and while I was in the shower, he yelled something like "Just be careful not to let it (the sperm) go down there". That freaked me out. Could I actually get pregnant from sperm coming into contact with my privates while showering? We're quite young and stupid the two of us (19), this is new, and with all the hype about teen pregnancy, I can't help but be a bit paranoid. Here are the facts:
- penetration has NOT happened, only oral sex
- the sperm was above my navel, and I washed it off with soap, though some of it might have gone down with the water
- I am not on the pill
- it was 7 days after my last period ended
I'm going to take a test just in case, but I'd appreciate an experienced point of view...

Sperm dies a few seconds after it comes into contact with air. No, you can't get pregnant by showering it off. If you really want to know details on how you can get pregnant, details on your cycle, and information of different forms of birth control (pills aren't the only way) then I suggest you check out the Planned Parenthood web site. It really helped me when I was your age.
Oh, and don't bother taking a test unless you are a few days late. Why waste the money and upset yourself until then? Good luck.

I'm not an expert, but it is impossible to get pregnant like that. Not only is the sperm (unaided) able to travel to your uterus but can't live outside the body that long. The sperm are delicate and can't live in a environment that is hot or cold (has to be just right temp range). If you are not planning on getting pregnant and are having sex use some form of protection (nothing is 100% except nothing). Check with your doctor about what type of BC is best for you, they have different side effects. I wouldn't worry about taking a pregnancy test (unless something did happen).

Absolutely not possible, as sperm must travel way, way, way up in order to get to the egg. The sperm wasn't deposited anywhere near the vaginal opening, so there is no way it could travel where it needs to go in order to make a baby. If you want to test anyway, you might as well wait until the day your next period is due, because even if there was a chance you could get pregnant from this, a test wouldn't show positive until then.

I would say no you are not pregnant and from what I know it can not lead to pregnancy. But I am not 100% sure. I would just take a test to be sure and that will give you the best answer.
Congratulations on not having sex yet!!! You go girl :)
Also when you do decide to have sex make sure to use protection and if you are going to take the pill just be on it for at least 1 -2 months with continued use of it before having sex to make sure that it is in your system and working. Happy Holidays. :)

Any thing is possible. You don't need penetration to get pregnant. All you need is for that sperm to get into your Virgina so it can swim up and penetrate your egg.
No, sperm do not die when they hit the air. This is a common myth!
Sperm can usually live up to seven days when they're in the cervical mucus of a woman's vagina. However, when they're not being nourished and protected by cervical mucus, vaginal secretions, the warmth and moisture of a man's urethra and reproductive tract, or other warm and moist conditions, they die anywhere between a half an hour to four hours.
If you've touched semen, it's a good idea to wash your hands, or at least wipe them off before touching the vulva or vagina.

your probably not pregnant but because you both are doing that kind of stuff being on the pill is not a bad thing even if your not having sex. If your going this far your probably want to be on the pill for that day that hormones are raging you'd already have your back up. The pill is not only for when your having sex you can take it before. It'll be good cause you can train yourself on not forgetting to take it.

No way. Its only able to get you pregnant from being in your area somehow. Thats too far up and not only that sperm dies rather quickly when they hit air on the outside of the body. If its above the navel then you're good to go. No worries......JKrabholtz

sounds like you are fine, sperm has a hard time living in the vagina much less living on your stomach, and then traveling down with soap and water. Best of luck

No, you can't get pregnant from that. If you're a virgin, that means that your hymen is still intact. That means that it is serving as at least a halfway decent barrier, especially when you're standing up. You have nothing to worry about. Congratulations on not being irresponsible with your sex life, by the way. It's refreshing.
