I developed Gestational Diabetes with my 4th pregnancy. At 32 weeks I began having weekly non-stress tests, an ultrasound, a visit with the OB nurse and a visit with the diabetic counselor. At 40 weeks, I showed no signs of impending labor, no thinning of the cervix, no dilation, nothing. At 41 weeks, I still had no signs of anything beginning to happen, so they gave me an insertion of prostaglandin gel in hopes of getting my cervix to start the softening process sometime before I hit the 42 week mark and they would induce me then. Within a half-hour of the gel insertion I had a bad reaction to the gel and began having 6 minute contractions which sent my baby's heart rate alarmingly low. They prepped me for pitocin, but I progressed rapidly without it. My baby was born vaginally, with no pain medication (my choice) a mere 7 1/2 hours after the gel insertion. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces, the smallest of my babies despite the fact I had Gestational Diabetes and she was born 1 week past her due date. There is only a risk that babies born to moms with Gestational Diabetes will come early and will be large, this doesn't happen to every baby.

i did NOT have gestational diabetes and my daughter was 12 days EARLY 8lbs 7 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. so no one really knows how big the baby might be. I def wasnt expecting to have a baby that size as I am normally 115lbs and about 5'3. so it was a surprise =) good luck
psi think it is standard procedure to test all expecting moms for GD

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I don't have gestational diabetes, but my best friend did. Her daughter was one week late and weighed 7.5lbs (and it was an induced vaginal birth). Normally, as long as your sugar is kept under control, the baby will be just fine.

I had GD with my daughter, I was able to control it with diet. She was 2 wks late, induced and came out a whopping 9lb 12oz, 23 inches!! I really dont think her size had much to to with GD though, since I had it under control. Hubby and I are tall, and between both families have had large babies, I believe her size was more genetics than GD :)
Good luck!

i had it, found out at 29 wks, controlled with diet and walking/swimming(summer baby) she came on her due date 7pds 4ozs, i had a c-sec, she wouldn't drop, i wouldn't dialate past 2, they induced me for 48 hrs, they didn't want her going past her "due" date, they thought she was bigger then she was, i kinda wish i woulda put my foot down and gave it a little more time, but she came out healthy so no real complaints, good luck to you!!!
