I have just received my 12 week scan today and found I am 12 weeks + 4 days, we are both so happy all is well. Later today I was looking at my notes and noticed the following:

Gestation Sac (YES), Mean Sac Diameter (REGULAR), Fetal Pole (YES), Fetal Heart Beat (Yes), Yolk Sac (Yes) - these were taken at an unexpected 7 week scan.

Today the following additional notes were added:
Ovaries (Rt), Adnexal mass (No), Free FLuid P of D (No). Single live fetus, reboook 20 weeks.

I am questioning the note regarding Ovaries (Rt), does this mean my ovaries, or has the sonographer identified a Right ovary in my unborn baby?

Thank you for any answers received.

Well what the law is it depeneds on where you are from. You have to work pretty much right up until you are ready to pop! Some places varey like i have 2 jobs i am a lawyers a assistant and a hairdresser with lawyers they would probley give me 12 or more the hairsalon only offer 6-8 no more. But what i found is staying home for the 1st 2 years is best for mommy and the baby! you will spend more money trying to find a sitter or day care to work then staying home and letting the man take care of the money! then after a year or 2 find another part time job you may even desire to go abck a little earlier but unless you have a really good job maternity leave really insn't worth it! think about it you will bring ur baby home get her/him on a schedual and then break it once it gets used to it! good luck!

I would assume it is your ovaries because 12 weeks is still early to tell what the baby is. Of course that is just a guess on my part though. You could always call your doctor's office and ask them. They will be able to tell you what exactly it means. Good Luck and congrats on the baby.

No, this refers to your ovaries. The sonographer will only be able to tell the sex of your baby at your 20 week scan, and it can be difficult even then!

The baby's sex cant be determined until the 14th-20th week.

The note is talking about YOUR ovaries. It must have appreared that your baby came out of your right ovary!

yes its your ovaries, your baby is too young to have developed ovaries if its a girl. during pregnancy one of your ovaries will contain a corpus luteum which is a mass that stops you from having periods and conceiving again. thats what the "ovary(rt)" probably means.
