The same thing you feel is what I feel... I get a real hard tummy and then I feel my back kinda stretching apart... I asked the doctor if it was normal that they were a bit painful... He said yes... Those are Braxon Hicks Contractions that you are feeling... It makes it hard for me to breath too when I get them... But this is when you need to practice your labor breathing... It helps... The doctor also told me that the real ones will hurt much worse... Although if you get Braxon Hicks Contractions more than four times in an hour you need to call your doctor cause it's a sign of preterm labor...

just talked to my doc about this....
Braxton Hicks are going to be above your belly button, and the whole belly will be hard...all across from left to right..if part of your sides are soft...thats just baby moving and pressing uterus out etc..
If you are getting the Braxton hicks at regular intervals, start timing....5 minutes apart for like an hour is when you best be at hospital lol...but about 10-15 minutes apart give ur doc a call. The real ones will definitely be consistent and I think they even increase pains as the time goes on.

Hope that helps...due Jan 29th here , #1, boy!

Just braxton hicks. Trust me you will know when they are real contractions, and right now is just to early for the real ones, unless you go into preterm labor, and you will know the difference. Pain and consistency.

They are probably Braxton-Hicks, but check with your doctor to be sure. If you call the office and explain what's going on, you may get an answer without having to actually go in.

Congratulations!!!!

when you are in real labor they won't stop so until then its nothing to worry about. you might be having some dilation contractions which are still nothing to worry about right now.
