... just because he seems to be able to cope with schoolwork in the week yet his brother (eight) still has to go to bed at the same time as the little one (three).
What is that doing for Family harmony?

I have a 9 month old son and me and my husband have decided that when he is about 1 1/2 yrs old we would like to start trying for our second child. Our son is an extremely light sleeper he wakes up with almost any noise. We have a white noise machine in his room that plays during the night so we are able to watch tv downstairs and talk. We live in an older house and it is not insulated at all and the bedrooms are right next to eachother. My husband is concerned that when we have the second child, when the baby cries that our son will wake up every time and we will have 2 crying all the time! Has this happened to anyone and does the older child just learn to sleep through it? He seems really worried about this and when he asked I really didn't have an answer! Thanks

THis is a strange thing, my wife is pregnant and she is starting to gain weight, crave food, that morning sickness thing. It's very odd, but I am doing the exact same thing. Vomiting every morning, gaining a lot of weight(I am a very healthy man who exercises daily, eats right, and cuts my tv time, doesnt drink beer, and doesnt sit around all day) and I am growing boobs. It's a scary thing knowing you have man boobs. Does any of you know what this means?

This Q:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Akywt6B8We_Nh5lcy5LZsdjty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071204075457AAlQ5IK&show=7#profile-info-a11810dedcef49b4ee5c4f8c624bb39eaa

(summary: told baby was ugly by troll, ended up sobbing at keyboard)

bothered me a lot.

Like others, I've had e-mail/answers telling me I'm ugly, my baby's ugly, I'm fat, I'm bitter, and those seem to be the stock one-size-fits-all insults. I am none of the above and my baby is a doll. So -- shrug.

However. I have no post-partum depression or self-esteem issues. That sort of vitriol might devastate anybody who does.

One person's 'I feel fat' question was swiftly troll-answered with a nasty remark and a link to a picture of herself, at a URL that also held a pic of a regular poster's baby... That stalker element was a bit much, too.

Like I said, that question I linked to really made me upset. Making new mothers cry is going well beyond attention-seeking. It's vile.

So -- do something? What?

My husband and I haven't settled one bit on the babies name. Our most recent that we both agree on is Jacob. Are most Jacobs you know nice boys/teens/men/elderly men? Usually people grow into their names in my opinion.

It would be Jacob Patrick Kerr most likely. Or Jacob Stephen Kerr.

What you think??

My father in law has Lou Gehrigs and he was diagnosed 6 months ago...he just turned 47 and according to his doctor he has a severe case since the disease started in his throat. We talk with his at least 2-3 times a week since one of the first things to go is normally the voice (this is difficult to communicate just because we are in Germany, they are in Alabama). My 5 year old daughter has started having nightmares because my mother in law keeps saying grandpa is dying which upsets me. I believe there are ways to express death without saying it directly. I am at a crossroad just because my husband and I want her to be able to understand and prepare herself when she does see her grandfather this summer. (Husband is getting deployed so we have to postpone trip until the summer) As a parent, what suggestions do you have in helping me explain to my 5 year old.

Thanks everyone in advanced. May this holiday season be filled with smiles and wonderful memories. Happy Holidays

I have to get someone to watch her after school, but just for 2 hours.
She's easy-going and not much trouble at all. I will only be gone for 2- 2.5 hours.
How much is fair to pay a babysitter for this time-length?

developing human being. It's like they think that in the beginning it is some alien life form and call it a fetus, like it is a way for them to rationalize that they aren't aborting/killing an unborn HUMAN being, but rather are abortioning a piece of tissue/fetus or something like that. This is all hogwash. Eventually that fetus or whatever you want to call it, will turn into a baby. You can rationalize all you want, but at the end of the day, you are aborting a developing HUMAN being. If you don't want to raise the child yourself, put the child up for adoption. That is always a better answer than aborting. And for all the people out there who say, what about rape/incest. Well, the % of women in the US who get pregnant through rape/incest is very very very small. I don't have the figures, but I'd make an educated guess and say, 1%, or .5%. It's not that many. And in those cases, I still wouldn't advocate abortion, because it is not the unborn child's fault what happened to

The other day I was all alone in my house. My husband was out in a business trip and my kid was in school. I was feeling really horny and decided to go masturbate since my husband wasn't coming until the end of the week. I put on some stockings and sexy bra. Then I started watching a sex video of my husband and I made 2 months back. I was getting really into it. Then I decided to take off one of my stockings and use it to blindfold myself so I can get a bigger rush and I also got my vibrator. I started going at it. My video at full blast, Im blinded folded and I was screaming loud. I was really getting into it then I feel hand tap me, I get really scared and take of the blind fold and it was my daughter. I was shocked. I quickly get under my covers and she asked me what am I doing? then she points at the TV? She started asking so many questions and I couldn't answer her. So I just change the subject and took her to the toy store. What should I do now?

Can anybody point me to the best site(s) for comparing the various brands available?

How are they for overnight use? For poopsplosions?

Your recommendations for particular kinds are welcome; my only fussiness right now is that I cannot stand polyester fleece, which seems to be on a lot of cloth diapers. If you like a brand without, tell me!

ok so i had unprotected sex on october 6 and 7. well a couple weeks afterwards i took a pregancy test that came back positive...but i swore i looked at it and it said negative but stuck it back in my back pocket and looked at it later and it said positive. Since then i have taken about four more test and a test at the hopital that have came back negative.. the most recent one was about a week ago.
But also i often feel sick at my stomach, urinate a lot, and just dont feel too well. i had my period in september but felt slightly shorter. This month i started my period on sunday and i have only bled a little bit. Is there a chance that i could be pregnant even after all of these negative tests?

I have breastfed my son since birth and expected to stop at six months. Once I realized they need formula or breastmilk for the first year I decided that breastmilk is best and will continue. BUT I'm totally not okay with breastfeeding my son once he sits up to eat. I'm not comfortable at all with him doing this, I'm okay with breastfeeding right now because he lays down to eat. How weird is that? Am I wrong?

I have been divorced for 3 years, since that time he has had no contact with my kids. (they are 4 and 6) In our custody hearing he told the judge he didn't want to have any visitation, he just wanted to see them somtimes... (yeah i know right?) anyways.. so today I get a random email from him wanting to know what to send the kids for Christmas...he recently came into a lot of money just in time for christmas... guess he's feeling generous or something. he hasn't ever sent them anything for bdays or Christmas ... why start now? Plus how am I supposed to tell the kids that their dad is sending them gifts, but can't pick up the phone to say hello. I thought about just accepting the gifts and putting from Santa... I haven't responded yet.. what do you think?

I told my boyfriend about it last month and he started pressuring me to get an abortion. My period came and he thinks that I'm not pregnat. I went to the doctor and she told me I'm abouth 1 month pregnat. She even gave me an ultra sound but it didn't show anything. The blood test came back posisitve and she said that the period I had was probably my last one. I don't know how to tell him because I don't want to have an abortion and I know that that he's going to pressure me.
