Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 December 2007

I'm a single parent of four boys and I'm finding my eldest son a nightmare. He swears, kicks, screams the house down and bites his younger brothers. I don't swear, or even shout loud so I don't know where he is getting it from, I have tried to take aways his toys, put him on the bottom stairs for 5 minutes among other things, but he is still being a nightmare!
Also he refuses to use the potty, wets and soils the bed at night and even worse, sometimes takes his diaper off and soils all over the furniture. Please Help!

In your family, do you always let your children have dessert after dinner? I have a 6 year old that is obsessed with food. She plans out what sweets she will have after dinner and talks about food constantly. This bothers me. My husband's family has always thought dessert for children was a requirement after dinner, I always disagreed. My daughter's attitude towards food has proven my worries to be true. I'm thinking about stopping dessert after dinner all together unless I bake something special with my daughter or special occasions. I have a 1 year old son who I want to raise in a healthier fashion and he's always watching what the older child gets after dinner. I'd like to stop this focus on food. I'm worried that my son will be the same way. How do you do it in your family? I've always argued with my husband about this and now that I've seen the way my daughter is with food, I'd like to put my foot down and create a healthier focus. Please let me know you do things. :)

The school is down the street from my house and I walk everyday to pick up my daughters. While we were walking home today I saw two boys hiding behind a bush and throwing rocks at some of the kids walking by. They were like 8 or 9 years old.
When I started walking by the same area, one of the boys came out of the bush and threw a palm-sized rock in my stomach from 3 feet away, laughed, and ran. I guess he thought since I am an adult, a woman who is a little overweight, that I was the perfect target. He was wrong.
I started running after him. Both of my daughters were surprised I could run so fast! I caught up with him across the street and pretty much tackled him against a fence. I had him by the jacket and he tried to hang onto one of the fence poles so, I pried his fingers off. I then got a better grip on the arm of his jacket and told him that he better bring me home to talk to his mother. I admit I was quite rough with him but, I didn't hurt him. Continued...

My neice is 3 months old and there is no room in my sisters 2 bed home to make her a bedroom. She is going to have to sleep in the same room as my nephew who is 10. When he is 12 I doubt he will want his little sister running around his ankles all the time. They have told my sister that my neice isnt classed as a person until she is two.

My daugther woke up in the middle of the night and said that her Dad hit her in the face. I asked the next morning for more details and she said Daddy was mad and hit me in the face. I asked my soon to be Ex about it and he said that nothing happened. 2 nights later same thing happens except this time she said that he hit her in the head and it was an accident. And, he said that did happen. I asked him again about hitting her in the face and he said he dones't know why she would say that.

The girl I got pregnant is an ex-girlfriend from my junior year of high school. She stalked me and everything (long story). My mom had a court case against her for harassment, and now my mom and my sister have restraining orders against her. My ex that's pregnant is due in August of '08. I'm 18 and so is she. My mom and sister's restraining orders expire around like September or something like that. I'm in a college a little over an hour from my family and ex that's pregnant. My ex will be graduating from high school in May '08. She has told her family, but I'm having problems with my family currently. My parents are authoritarian, so that doesn't help at all. Hi im 40+1 weeks pregnant and been getting really bad pains down below, its that bad i cry, it feels like when baby moves something is coming out or its scratching me. i also feel like im opening up if you no what i mean, and keep needing toilet but nothing is coming out. i also have quite alot of back pain which comes and goes but doesn't get any stronger. what is this as i cant take much more,

The problem is that this baby's father (her two boys were with her first husband) left her before she found out (long story, lets leave it at when he said he had a few errands to run they involved cleaning out their bank account and skipping town.) She and her two boys are living with me and my husband right now, because her lousy ex didn't pay their rent for 3 months before he took off and she lost their apartment. She was recently laid off from her job, has no money, permanent home, or support outside of my hubby and I. She has been so depressed, over the last few weeks it seemed like she lost the will to live. After finding out about this baby today she had a breakdown. She wants to put the baby up for adoption, but she doesn't know where to start. Does anyone here have any advice? She and I had a very long talk today and she is sure about giving the baby up. She didn't want to be a mom again before all this, nevermind now. She's pro-life so abortion is not an option..

I recently got sick with the flu and now my milk supply has dropped significantly. My baby is freaking out on me because she is hungry. I try to nurse her and there's nothing.
