Does anyone know why people experience numbness in the area surrounding the incision of a cesarean scar ?? Its the strangest feeling and was wondering why ?!?!?!

All the nerves in your skin and muscle layers were cut to get baby out. Some of those nerves never grow back..thats the numbness you feel.

I'm still numb in areas on my belly after 18 months. And I'm expecting to have another CS in a month...yikes.

Because when the doctors make the incision they have to cut through nerves. Some women experience the numbness for only a short while, and some experience numbness in some areas for the rest of their lives.

Very normal. I had two emergency c/sections. My kids are 8 1/2 and almost 5 1/2. The incision scars are STILL numb, though they have faded quite a bit.

Yes I am numb around my incision I had my baby 2 months ago. It's normal from being cut the nerves won't be the same.

yes , it's totally normal, due to the nerves being damaged during the operation. i had one seven years ago and it took about 5 years to feel normal again, although everyone is different!
once the scar has totally healed up you can use vitimin e cream to massage into it and help the tissue heal.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the nerves being burned.
