I gave birth to my daughter 1 week ago. I developed a large hemorrhoid & I know this is pretty common but I was wondering how long it takes for them to go down and the pain to stop? Today I started using a creme on it 5 times a day. Thanks!

I got them when I delivered both of my kids. They gave me Dibucaine ointment and they were gone within a 7-9 days.

Call your OB office and see if they can get you a prescription to help your healing along. You just had a baby and you don't need to deal with this and take care of a newborn.

Congratulations!

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/bHUQ4
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.

If it's still there and bothering you when you go in for your 6 wks checkup with your OB-GYN, tell him/her about it and has for advice. Your doctor can arrange for it to be repaired.
