Do you like the name 'Alana' ?

My name is Alana !

I dont really like it because its not common name...
is it because its weird ?

I used to hate my name because it is an older name and all my friends hade cutsie names that ended in "ie" or "y"...Kelly, Becky, Nikki, Brittany,etc...now that I am older, I LOVE the uniqueness of my name and wear it as a badge of honor. People always remember my name. I happen to like your name though. I know another Alana and she is an awesome girl with a great personality!

I knew a girl in college named Alana, and she was very pretty. A lot of the guys liked her a lot and liked her name. So, although it's not a very common name it sounds really pretty.

I like names that begin with the letter "A" best. All three of my daughters have names that start with the letter "A". So, yes... I like that name.

Also, it sounds really super pretty, and soft. Almost sounds Hawaiin.

You took the words right out of my mouth. It's a nice name but it is too common for my taste. I have a veeerrryyyy common name as well -- more common than yours even, and I hate it. I am determined to name my child (boy or girl) something very unique. And I don't think Alana is a weird name. I went to H.S with a girl named Alana -- she was a sweetheart! : )

You should love your name. Unique names define us. What fun is it to have a common name anyways? There's a reason the cartoon show "Recess" had "The Ashleys" club, the name was so common at the time, the writers had to make fun of it. Love your name, it is very beautiful!

I actually love that name. its really pretty and not many people have it so it makes it that much better. it sounds kinda foreign and not common so I like it for those reasons too.
you should be proud of the name Alana. Its a great name. just be glad you don't have a way common name like Ashley or Rachel or something. that would suck.

I really do like the name Alana. It was on my list due to its uncommon status. You should be happy because you wouldn't want your name to be Mary and have 5 other women with that same name sitting in a doctor's office, etc.

The way I meter which name to pick is by how easy it is to be picked on it for. Alana Banana, that is cute and don't see that hurting someone (i know you have to pronounce it a little different to get it to rhyme). It is a very sweet name.

Well its not common but it is cool. The name is probly derived from more common names like hannah. Which turn does not make alana wierd. I sincerely think its unique
