Pregnancy & Parenting - 26 November 2007

So here’s the deal: I am Belizean and Guatemalan, and my husband is Puerto Rican and African American. Latino culture and heritage has always been very important in my family, not at all in my husbands (he was raised by his African American grandparents). I have always wished that I had a Latino name like my sisters and cousins, but instead I got stuck with Lisa Marie :( My husband and I already have a son, named Frank Alexander. I really want our next child (who is a girl) to have a Latina name. But my husband doesn’t think it will sound right, since our last name is Williams (he took his African American mother’s name). What can I do to convince him otherwise?

Background: I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. I'm actually still nursing my first. He'll be 14-15 months when this baby is born. I haven't decided whether or not I'll wean him or tandem nurse.

Problems: I would at least try tandem feeding, but I'm afraid of what will happen if I decide it's too hard. I imagine he would be very resentful if I wean him cold turkey after the baby is born. I'm mildly depressed more often than not and I had awful PPD after my son was born. I absolutely hated nursing and if it hadn't been for my husband's support, I most definitely would have given up. I really didn't enjoy breastfeeding until my son was about 3-4 months old.

Since my son will be over 1 year, if I have to choose, I will nurse the newborn. But if anyone has any tips or advice to get me through tandem nursing, that would be great. And if anyone has any ideas on how I can make breastfeeding more pleasant in general this time, that would be great too.

I am 3 months pregnant. My boyfriend left me when i told him that im pregnant. He told me that the only way he will be with me if i do abortion. He wanted me to do abortion because he's ashamed if his friends will find out that im pregnant he's got 2 other kids from 2 other baby mamas. So, he wanted me to do abortion because he doesnt want to have another baby. I feel ashamed that now im carrying his baby without him in my life. His family hated and disown him because he betrayed me. Sometimes, i feel scared and going through this pregnancy is not easy. I need to know if i should do child support or juss move on without him to involve in my child's life.

I have irregular periods and i havent had my period this month. Im goin on the 46th day of my cycle. My breast are sore so I had the clever idea to check to see if there was anything in them due to it now being 13 months since i had my son. and there is colostrum there. i just took a test and it was invalid due to the control line not appearing. am i pregnant based on milk being there and my period MIA?im extremely nervous about knowing if i am or not

OK, thats my new topic for debate. Personaly I think it does bacause it teaches us kids where to get condoms & other contraceptives. And it tells girls that if they become pregnant and they go to a clinic their parents don't have to know. So what is this all teaching us ? If you are going to do it just be safe. And if you get pregnant, don't be scared cause your parents don't have to know.

But thats my opinion, I WANT TO HEAR SOME OF YOURS !!

*lower back pain when sitting in a chair to long

* a little leg pain
*gas pains
*light cramps
*neck aches and sometimes cause a headache

My girlfriend cannot go on the Pill due to health reasons and we absolutley hate condoms(I know blah blah blah) but I am here for advice...

I have been using coitus interruptus and I seem to have trained my self well, I always clean and urinate before sexual intercourse as a rule. I keep hearing that sperm can be in the pre-***, is this true? Like I said I always urinate before sexual intercourse to clear any left over from a prevouis ejaculation.. Once I have ejaculated after coitus interruptus I will not have sex until the next day after a good bath etc.

Can somebody give me there own experiences on why this method fails and if it has been successful?

Is there anything he can do to stop her? Like call the police or someone? Shes nasty and shes upset that my brother doesnt want to be with her anymore. He left her because she wont stop smoking with his child and also because shes so nasty. Please help our family. This is tearing us all apart. What can he do? My poor brother cant stop thinking about the harm shes doing to the baby and hes sorry hes having a baby with her.
