Of course it is. Remember that these are the names of the Bible also and that Jesus was a Jew, if it worries you from the religious point of view. My daughter's name is Sarah and I am not Jewish.Very Biblical and very Jewish and used by both Christians and Jews. Shows we're not really far apart doesn't it. Simon is a lovely name.

Yes. I love the name Simon! Names can't really be 'claimed' by a faith. The prophet of a faith, like Jesus or Mohammed technically wouldn't be 'wrong' on a child that's not Christian or Muslim, but it would be very misleading. I wouldn't advise giving a child a name like Christian, Christina, etc, unless you're Christian. Other than that, pretty much anything goes!
