I work from home and luckily if I have a day without my 3 yr old napping I can take the day off or work at night when he goes to bed.

When he was 8 months old I would use DVDs, his favorite toys on a blanket on the floor next to me anything that would allow me to get on the computer or phone.

I rotate my time. Wake up before him, get work done. He wakes up, 1 solid hour with him (breakfast, changing, playing) then he gets his cars or trains and a DVD and I get to work and work as long as he is content. I bring him a snack, take 5 minute breaks to play with him every 40 minutes or so.

When he does nap I bust my but working. I do what I can't get done with him around at night or when Daddy is home. I try to keep all of my phone time for when he is having TV/DVD time and walk into another room (with him in my site).

He is not alone playing all day but he does play well by himself for 20-30 minutes and he has his time and we have our time. It is a process and every time I get a routine down he goes through another phase and it changes again.

At this moment we are playing cars on the table, I am on here while waiting for a client call. I just try to fit it all in.

It is just having little ones to care for.

I run my businesses from home so it can be done but it is much more difficult than dropping him off at daycare and working without having to care for him.

Email me for support or advice if you need too!

If you can afford it, perhaps hire a mother's helper to come in a few hours a few days a week. That way you will have that time to work without being interrupted.

Give him interesting things to play with, and whatever you do make sure u don't get him use to sleeping with quiet surroundings. you will never get anything done.
