You can still produce milk after a year of giving birth yes....but you might want to see if you're pregnant also because you're most fertile within the first year after giving birth. And i think the colostrum appears at the during pregnancy and right after birth, not a year after the fact. Take a pregnancy test and go from there.

I dont really know if its normal but my daughter is 5 years old and whenever I am around a baby or think about having another baby I still leak sometimes. I think its just the mother instinct. As for your period, it changes after you have a child, some people go back to a regular schedual, some dont. Not everyone has their period right on the dot. Sometimes sore breast go along with periods, I know mine get sore. Go to a free clinic in your area and have them test you.

Hmmm multiple questions there.
1. you can actually give milk for as long as someone is milking you once the milk starts flowing. I've heard tales and seen distasteful BBC documentaries on children as old as 9 who still breast feed. As the saying goes, if they can ask for it, they are TOO OLD. blech
2. Your breasts producing milk would not produce the hormone which would indicate pregnancy.
3. There are several reasons why your period could be MIA, drastic weight loss, preganancy, stress, and other more serious ailments. See a doctor.

I haven't nursed my daughter for 11 years now and I still produce a milky type substance. My doctor was concerned and tested it when he did my breast cancer screen. He said it was just fatty fluid and I have nothing to worry about. As for being pregnant and having it.. I wouldn't count on the presence of the fluid to determine if you are pregnant. Colostrum doesn't show up until the late stages of pregnancy. Go get a pregnancy test and take it if your worried about being pregnant.

The breasts are sensitive..and can produce milk if stimulated at anytime..if you've had a baby the breasts can produce milk up to six years after if stimulated daily..even young girls as they are born can produce milk ..this is called witches milk...sometimes after pregnancy around the first period prior to giving birth the hormones will produce a little milk..go to the doctors to get some pills to dry up the residual milk..

you know what i think that's still normal, cause some people they breastfeed until the baby is 2 yrs. old.so probably ur going to have you menstrual period in no time, it's just that you're irregular.just like me, i had mah baby 2 yrs ago but this month mah breast hurt and i haven't had mah period, so i did what you did and i have a little bit of it. and now i have mah period. and also check with your doctor for you to make sure that there's nothing wrong with you.....gud luck

I'm 44, my youngest child is about 7 1/2. I weaned her about 4 1/2 months. I still make a tiny amount of milk.
I don't know how long you can have that.

You can produce milk at 80 years old and 60 years after you've had a baby. All you have to do is have one full-term baby to do it. So, don't assume that it is a valid method of determining pregnancy.
Good luck!

Get another test and try again.
By the way, pediatricians recommend breast feeding kids about eight times as long as that. It improves their immune systems and has been recently found to trigger genes that increase IQ.

Not necessarily. I haven't nursed a child in twenty years and I still produce milk. Go see your ob/gyn to be on the safe side.
